I have been trying to discover the best hosting solution that offers speed and reliability. I thought I found it with WPX hosting and their WPX Cloud CDN but had a serious outage(The WPX Cloud gave an error for my websites for anyone using CSpire) tonight that got me searching again.

Would using a VPS be a better solution for speed over WPX Hosting? Like AWS Lightsail? I could add their cloud product for CDN.
I have even considered moving all my lower traffic sites from shared hosting to an AWS Lightsail Ubuntu instance and hosting multiple sites on it.

I'm asking for thoughts on the above and suggestions if there are better solutions than mentioned above. Thanks....

A CDN isn't really hosting. It's just a network of nodes that serves content to your visitor(s) from the node closest to them.
A VPS is always a good idea - if you know what you're getting in to and are able to manage it yourself or with a 3rd party, and only if you need one.
If you don't need or require a VPS, shared hosting shold be adquete for you until you outgrow shared hosting.

Before you go for VPS, you must know one thing, that VPS is like playing with fire if you don't know how to manage it. If your sites are small and can be fit in shared hosting, then either get a small Managed VPS or Managed Shared Hosting that can host your multiple websites. If you can manage the VPS well, then its always a good idea.

It is easy to choose a VPS hosting plan on this forum with good price and with CDN, you use Cloudflare for your website, that is all to combine VPS and using CDN.
