Hello all,

I am looking to have a hosting solution for my company and our client sites (as well as our own). The biggest issue I have is speed. I want the fastest load times and shortest server response times possible. For the purposes of this, the platform and server I am going with is:

AWS EC2
c5n.2xlarge server (8 vCPUs, 21GB ram, EBS Bandwidth Up to 3.5 Gbps, Network Bandwidth Up to 25 Gbps)
Provisioned IOPS SSD with 400 IOPS and 300GB of space

I would like it to run Linux (likely Ubuntu 20.04, but I don't actually care which flavor of Linux it is), NGINX, MySQL 8, and PHP7.4.

If it needs litespeed of fastcgi, I am happy to do it, as long as it is fast.

From a control panel, I need to be able to create new sites quickly, have them secure (letsencrypt), and optimized to run Wordpress sites. I will need a file manager, and I would like to have email hosting capabilities. I would also like to be able to use multiple IPs and assign a site to an IP address as I wish. Staging and backups within the panel would also be ideal. I may need to give some users access to their sites, so that functionality would be ideal as well.

I dont care if it is a paid or free solution, as long as it makes the sites fast. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. I have been told to use hestiacp, cpanel, fastpanel, virtualmin, but I dont know what is the best.

Also, if someone is adept at setting this up, I would really like to talk to you.

Thanks in advance,
Guy

cPanel gets my vote, It's integration with Litespeed is solid. Interworx would be my second choice, however, it's support for Litespeed is just not up to standards yet.

I would stay away from cPanel, just take a look at this: https://forumweb.hosting/20986-why-cpanels-pricing-is-increasing.html

Use DirectAdmin or CentOSWebPanel, both of which integrate with Litespeed and won't cost you an arm and leg in licensing fees. And secondly, get a server closest to you and your target audience if you want the faster load times.

I think that in this situation that is better to have your clientele as major index. Service is being provided for certain clients and that is a good idea to be oriented on your clients and their preferences of control panel.

The web hosting control panel is an often overlooked part of Virtual Private Server (VPS) solutions. Still, it can be the difference between clicking within a convenient GUI interface and a black screen where you just input commands.

Technically speaking, you can manage VPS hosting without the use of a control panel. Still, such a platform introduces a dimension of user-friendliness that helps you save time and reduces the burden for novice users.

Users can opt for more manual control over their accounts, even if using a VPS hosting control panel. More experienced developers often take advantage of that option.

Most web hosting control panels come with essential server management features. Beyond this, you need to pay attention to your unique needs and whether the chosen control panel will support them.

I would recommend directadmin, it is a great web hosting control panel to use for your websites. If you don't have good budget then go with directadmin or plesk, its more cheaper than cpanel :)

I vote for Directadmin or Plesk.
They have enough features you need and price is lower than cpanel.

If you are looking for a fast and high-quality web hosting solution, you should probably go with A2 hosting. Well, I am not really sure if you will like this platform but it works well with me. You just need to choose between all of its high-speed hosting packages to fit your needs. Also, what are you going to use this for?

If you’re involved in managing servers for web hosting then you’ll appreciate the importance of having a simple, yet highly effective method of monitoring and looking after your hosting infrastructure. The most effective way of managing all the processes related to routine tasks of hosting infrastructure is to use a web hosting control panel.

Fortunately, this issue has been addressed by many hosting companies as they include their own hosting control panel or Graphical User Interface (GUI).

The web hosting control panel approach will allow you to monitor and adjust your server services from virtually anywhere with a stable internet connection.

It’s a good idea to use a well-supported and reputable hosting management solutions. That way, if you ever switch to a new host at some future date, you won’t face such a learning curve. Even if the new host offers features that you haven’t seen before, you’ll still feel at home with the interface.

cPanel & WHM is a set of utilities for the Linux operating system that allows you to automate web hosting activities through a graphical user interface. Its purpose is to make it easier for you to manage servers and for your customers to manage websites.

My suggestion is to use cPanel which is very easy for end user to understand ... also it has WHM which is admin panel where you can easily perform administrative tasks.
If you want free control panel. I would suggest VestaCP or Webmin. both are free and have good features.

If you are the only person who will have access to the control panel then there are a lot of interesting options, but many of them get ruled out the moment that you need to give clients access to it. You are making the jump from a server control panel to a hosting control panel.

If you are looking for a paid panel then the biggest three are cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin.
  • cPanel is a standard, everyone knows it, some people love it, most just think it's great because it's what they are sold and what everyone uses.
  • Plesk is owned by the same company and personally I prefer it, both have the same issues about price increases, etc.
  • Don't have a lot experience with DirectAdmin, but it seems to work well and is nice.
If you are looking for something free then I would suggest sticking with something open source, as proprietary free software always comes with potential future issues in my opinion, that leaves:
  • Froxlor and ISPConfig are both great open source options but take a little effort to set up. They are both fast and light.
  • Hestia is quick and easy and just works, but I don't like the UI at all, that's a personal thing I guess. It's a fork of VestaCP but with more frequent updates and less security issues, there are a couple of other forks of Vesta which are also good, just do a quick search and you will find them.
  • Cyberpanel is a decent option if you are planning to run Litespeed or OpenLiteSpeed on your server, it's under rapid development and bugs do creep in so you shouldn't always rush to update, but it has a lot of good features.
  • Virtualmin/Webmin give you a lot of power and more options than most people will ever need, but they can also munch up a lot of space and system resources, and are probably overkill for what you need.
Those are the options that spring to mind straight away.

virtualmin is good but it lack some of the features which cpanel offer . eg. reselling .
directadmin is good alternative to cpanel.

my compiled version:

free version that works and recommend:

  • virtualmin.com
  • ISPConfig.com
  • nonenon.org

Paid version that offer more features:

  • cpanel.com
  • directadmin.com
  • nonenon.org
  • plesk.com

all these control panel offer moderm UI .
