I want to install cPanel or Plesk on a hosting server but not sure which control panel will help my website load faster. My question is, what is the best way to measure the speed of a server after installed a hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, ipconfig...etc)?

HI,

This depends on what your trying to host. Plesk is good for hosting .net web pages where cpanel is built using centos 7.

My best advise would be do the free trial on both and see which is better.
Each server can be optomised depending on whats installed etc.

I don't think that is a good question. You should choose control panels according to features, documentation, support, budget, etc. Select server according to resource needs after choosing control panel. Thus, for example, if the control panel you most desire uses more memory than an alternative, add more memory to server, don't change control panel.

On a technical view point, Plesk provides more performance than cPanel as Plesk is database driven hosting control panel.

But , while choosing a control panel, it should be convenient for your hosting requirements.

Even though Plesk offers a bit performance than cPanel, but the cPanel facilitates more to the managing interface and web hosting options which requires for any potential customers.

cPanel team offers a great support for the panel , regular, updates and patches and with highly advanced options to compete more any other panels available in industry.

Any stronger hardware spec with reasonable RAM and CPU resources can run cPanel perfectly with out any impact on the performance.

For checking the individual website performance analysis you can use the urls like.

I don't think you will notice any difference in terms of page load speed. If I were you, I'd pay more attention to web server technology, caching and also optimize the website for speed.

Directadmin consume less server resources thank cPanel for sure so it's a good start. After tha you need to use a good cache solution and a CDN if you need it.

Heard it from a host who did the switch from cPanel to Directadmin recently after the cPanel price increase and they noticed a drop in server load.

From GTmetrix and Google developer's tool rather we can collect suggestions like why it's slow and discover optimization opportunities.

from above tools you can get performance of website and server as well as suggestion from server end as well code end needed to boost up the website, although there are multiple factors which affects speed of website.

1. server location
2. server resources like ram and cpu and type vps , shared or dedicated
3. web server
4. web server caching
5. filesystem caching
6. database version and optimisation for best speed and performance
7. website page size and website code end optimisation
8. SSD disk or disk type like raid
9 . SSD Disk I/O rate
10. cdn etc

these techniques can be implement on all control panels , plesk provide by default nginx caching , these can be achieved on free control panel as well

so with only control panel you will not get speed , all above factors should be considered to achieve speed .

We are using DirectAdmin and yes, it's light on system resources.

Web server is responsible for website loading speed, not server's control panel. Decent server hardware and fast network is important also.

HI
PAnel has nothing to do with website speed, website speed depends on many factors.
