Which free antivirus programs for windows 10 that you would recommend? I have a PC using Windows 10 and needing a free antivirus program for it to protect my PC from virus or malwares.

You can use Norton, Avast, Avira, Avg and Mcafee antivirus for your window 10. These software are good and provide you security patch update time to time.

If you have any of antivirus in this list then you don't need to worried about hacking and file stolen on your PC.

I would suggest you avast. But in Windows 10, Windows defender does the job if you keep it updated. I have used windows 10 for a couple of years without an antivirus and even have it in one of my systems using dual boot. I prefer to use Linux only though on my primary laptop.

I used free antivirus programs in years in the past but recent years I always use paid antivirus programs because they are more better and get updated as always.

Before Avast used different antiviruses: Norton, Avg, Mcafee, etc., but none of them were fully satisfied for different reasons.

A friend advised Avast, I installed it and I do not regret it. For two years, not a single problem has happened. Avast works quickly, does not overload the computer and effectively protects against different parasitic programs, if this was the way medication helped to struggle the virus, there would be no epidemics. Before relying on a program, it has to be set up correctly. I think the negative feedback about Avast is just from users who don't know how or don't want to do the configuration.

My niece's, my daughter's, has the same program on their laptop and no one has complained.

I advise everyone to keep your computer safe from harmful viruses.

I think IMHO Windows Defender is the best AV now since awhile. They have quite invested in that product development.

I don't trust free antivirus software. Therefore, I bought a one-year subscription to Kaspersky Internet Security for $ 8.

Yes, I do indeed often see complaints about incorrect operation of some PCs with Kaspersky installed, and I do not know what this has to do with either.

I personally have been using 360 Total Security for about two years now. I haven't experienced any problems with it.

You can also buy Premium keys very cheaply.

I just read that Bitdefender Free will retire on 12/31/2001. It's my favorite antivirus and if you read this within the next few hours you can get it for free.

Last night I decided to install antivirus on all of my devices. I spent a few hours researching the best deals. I absolutely could not believe how expensive most companies were charging. Even at 50% off, it was still too expensive. I did find a few free versions, however. Frankly, most of these companies play games. I found that out. For example, Total Antivirus doesn't offer a free version until you place your cursor at the top of the screen -- like you are leaving their website. Then a banner pops up offering a free version. Also, Avira also has a free version.

Somehow I found a wonderful deal from Kaspersky, like 10 bucks for 5 devices with every feature known to man, incl a VPN. But I suppose it could have been a Christmas deal or something. I can no longer find that deal available but they do have a free edition of the security cloud version. It is stripped down, however. I think Kaspersky was playing games too. The $10 offer appeared as a Google ad only when I searched for a competing product. I have no idea how to find it now. But their service seems great at any price.

I have seen many many benchmarks on antivirus software. The Microsoft Defender has historically always been rated at the very bottom of the list. I hear it is improving a lot. So if it must be free, you are all set. Defender comes with Win 10.

I would recommend Avast AntiVirus. The free version works quite well and gets the job done. I have tried others in the past like Mcafee, Norton, Avira, Kaspersky and they tend to slow down the computer. Maybe it's just my computer.. Don't forget to just run MalwareBytes every once in a while and you should be all good.
