Hi, I am new to creating websites etc, and I am wondering if there is any way to register your domain name for free? maybe even like a 3-month free trail would be cool.

Check out http://www.dot.tk/en/index.html?lang=en

Their are a few providers doing the same, however a .com or .net are quite cheap. If you shop around you can find sales for under $5.

If need a domain just buy one, I would not use these free domain services.

I agree with LJSHost, free domain are not worth it, buy domain and its cheap and google take paid domains more serious then free domains. If your main purpose is blogs then wordpress or blogger offer free sub domains, you can go for them its good option.

You can get free domain by purchasing a web hosting plan on this area https://forumweb.hosting/top-quality-best-web-hosting.html
Unidenhosting and Exabytes are offering free domain when you go with their service.

Other than that, I don't see any domain registrar which offering free domain name unless you use a promo code to get the cheapest price from them.
As I have bad experience with dot.tk in the past when I used free domain name from them, they inserted a banner ad on top of all webpages on my website without any noticing :)

I would advise against getting the domain from your hosting provider. Always keep domain and hosting separate so you maintain control over the domain.

Check freenom.com they provide 5 extension for free. But going for a paid domain is always better. . Xyz is catching up fast.. It's just $1 year.

Hello CaygriWEB

Check www.freenom.com they provide free domain extension 5 different extension. I have like 150+ clients using it. They also provide API so you can also provide free domain names... That's wonderful right. Ther are few regulations in it like no parking domine, ar illegal use.

http://freenom.com offers free domain names even for as long as 1year. I've made use of Freenom in time pass, but later on, I moved to paid domain name when I saw the limitations of free domain naming.
Some of the limitations of free domain naming are:
(1) Google and other search engines will not rank you higher, these search engines will rather prefer to rank paid domain names first before free ones.
(2) Most of these free domain hosting will automatically change your DNS without your notice which may be slow. It's what I experienced.
(3) Their logo may be shown on the tab of your subscriber browser which doesn't create credibility. You won't have the freedom to change it to your preference, for example, Freenom logo is in form of "F" which will be shown in the browser tab of anybody that load your site.
So if you are on a tight budget and can't get a paid domain now then go for subdomain naming instead. You can make use of WordPress or Zoho site subdomain naming.

Hey, thanks, everyone I never even heard of subdomains so I will check them out. I will also check out freedom, WordPress and the others mentioned. I am on a very tight budget at this moment, and I don't like to spend money or a lot of it on anything until I try it first. even videos games lol.

There is nothing such as getting a trial domain. Once you register, it is yours for the period of one year. You can get a free domain from certain hosting companies if you buy their hosting package. I am not sure if this is still available however last time I checked iPage hosting, they were giving a free domain for buying one of their hosting plans. You can also get a free domain with you use website builders such as weebly.

Yes, there are hosting providers that give free domain if you purchase one of their plans. I think in most cases this option is available if you purchase their service for longer period, like for 1 year. But it's better to check a few providers and see under what conditions they offer this option. Good luck!

Yes you can register domain free. There are some websites offer you but with a limited time or limited features like free web hosting. The only disadvantage of this is you cannot promote them in social medias or any google related sites because they found this a scam or type phishing method to hack some information.
