The "Mac vs PC" debate has been going on for years but what do you prefer?

I'm a PC guy but thinking about switching to Mac soonish.

It would be quite interesting to see which is the preferred choice within this forum :)

I'm using a PC with windows system for it. I don't think i will change to a new system, it gave me all things I need.

I'm wondering why you want to switch to Mac soonish? It has any advantages over PC?

I've recently upgraded to Windows 8 and really dislike it. Specification wise, a PC will do the same as a Mac (I'm sure?) but the Windows 8 OS is really throwing me off.

I've also never owned a mac and want to get bit of change :)

Are you running Windows 8?

I am using Windows 7 since it came out and I like it, I did not update my to Windows 8 as I did not hear much positive feedback about it.

Windows 7 is my primary choice for a desktop environment, though I am excited for Windows 10. When it comes down to it, for Servers with complete customization, I choose Gentoo. The longest time it took me to install and configure a gentoo box was 107 hours, the thing was a beast though. For conventional servers that I house my customers on however, CentOS is my #1 choice. In the end, you'd never catch me dead using MacOS. Those douchebags ripped off the core of FreeBSD, and said that their core operating system was their own.

Windows 7 is what I like the most. And i'm not just speaking for myself. Most people like Windows 7 the most and that is because it sticks to what users want and not what Microsoft thinks users want as seen in Windows 8 which is a total flop.

I like Windows 7 and Windows in general as more software is available for it. I tried in past the Mac, it's not complicated, it's very easy but I couldn't find any use.

In my opinion the Windows 8 is failed to deliver the expectation, this is reason why Microsoft moved to Windows 8.1 adding start menu back but consumers are still not 100% satisfied with it and it's reason again Microsoft moving so quickly to Windows 10 with proper start menu option.

One of the main reasons why I'm soon changing to mac is because I'm also a photographer and video editor. When it comes to that sort of stuff, a mac is better in my opinion :)

Windows is my preferred choice - but then again, it varies depending on what I do. On the work computer, I run Xubuntu, as it actually speedens a lot of the tasks I do up. If I design something (which I rarely do as it's not exactly a primary skill), I have a Mac Mini sitting here that I power up for that instance. For anything else though, I'll vote Windows all the way.

I don't think I could ever get into using a Mac. They're very restrictive and most softwares are for PC only. Plus, I am just so used to PCs and their simplicity!

I prefer MAC because I find it more (this is my personal experience, don't need want to start PC/MAC Fan debate) stable and secure then Windows, first of all i don't need an AV on MAC as long as i'm fully updated

I get *nix console with it, i don't need any third party utility for whois etc... Even Linux us an option but Linux GUI is not as stable as MAC

I can SSH to my servers without even need for putty or securecrt and i can do almost everything that i can do on windows

Can run bash scripts

I think i like MAC mostly because it's based on BSD

I prefer PC and that's for many reasons but a couple of the most important ones to me are the fact that there is a lot more software and hardware for a PC, they are better priced and I am familiar with a PC since that's what I have always been around and ever used in school way back in the day.

I'm a PC guy too. I've never even used a Mac. Is that bad?

I just think mainly top Web Designers use Mac's and PC is better for everything else.

I've used both PC and Macs over the years, and my first computer was actually a Power Macintosh 6100. More recently I've owned an iMac (2010ish) but right now I use Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop. There are pros and cons for both systems. For Apple, the operating system is nice and while it could take some research I was always able to find software to perform the tasks that I wanted to perform. Although Apple is now using hardware that, in my opinion, does not warrant the premium price tag on their systems and for that reason I'm perfectly content with using computers from Toshiba or Acer and just using Windows.

I like Windows 10, why? Mac has a lot of softwares that are not unsupported, and also i like gaming, so Mac is not for me.
