I've been a freelance writer for more than a year and I could say that I've already had my ups and downs in the field. What makes me curious is the fact that a lot of writers are willing to work for a client without asking for upfront payment. I, for one, do that and it's full of risks. That's why I am slowly going into a transition. In the future, I will most likely ask for upfront payments just to make sure that my clients won't run after all my hard work.
Who among you here have experienced to be left with nothing after you did your work? As for those who chose to ask for upfront payments, how did you manage to do so?
