I am on my own, but I don't think time spent researching is the most important criteria. I think the quality of the research is more important.

What do the majority of users say (there will always be some complainers, but is it just a handful or are there lots of complaints)? Is the customer service responsive? Is it fitting for the price? Is the current price an introductory offer that will increase by a large amount when it's time to renew? Do they divulge the renewal rate? There are lots of other questions as well, but they shouldn't take weeks to answer.

There are several sites that offer comparison charts as well, which should make it quicker and easier to find good hosting.

I think I need at least 3 days to choose a web hosting provider for my websites and it often is applied when I need to move my websites to a new hosting or choosing a new host for new websites.
Day 1, I will check out their prices, fatures and specifications if they are suitable to my requirements.
Day 2 and Day 3, I will check around to find out if that company is a reliable hosting company and used by more people or not.

The time invested in a research is fundamental, that is why there are many Hosts that guarantee point speed at the moment of doing quality research whether it is observed from the business or personal point of view, because this allows us to better manage the information. obtained and detailed study of it and so know if it is worth or hire a particular service from my point of view are as important as the quality as the time used by the host to give us a response.

I've been searching for one for a couple of days I think.About 3-4 days.The reason is that I'm looking for the cheapest and best hosting service out there that comes with cloud flare protection.I found a few but they seem to be a bit rusty.Looks like support on their sites is not very active.

Its most importantly vary on clients requirement but moreover its a combination of support, uptime, speed, security, backup, Price and performance if these factors are as per clients requirement, that's the best host for them.

I take at least 3 days to look for the host,why long you ask? it's because I need to look at several things which include;
1. Prices -Trust me no matter how rich you are you always want to save money for the future ,prices vary depending on the company your going to get it from .
2. Are also look for a company that has many reviews a 5star reviews everyone does that you need something that will give you service and is of quality.

We can believe in reviews a bit more but don't forget some reviews are not real because they could be create by their marketing team.

Not sure if there should be a specific time you would have to look for a good hosting or anything else. Usually, when you look for hosting, you should make notes of what exactly you are looking for and check that, if you can't find something on the website, contact the support - that will also allow you to see the response and answers of the customer support.

Once you are done with your initial checklist and know everything you need, you can give that hosting a try.

I think many users will ignore this because they don't have more knowledge about web hosting, just see if price and more features then they might decie to buy without thinking too much it is good or not, or even didn't research about that web hosting company.

A best host would vary as per client requirement. So, once you prepare a short list of hosting provider as per your requirement. You can open sales or support ticket by asking about the offer and renew pricing and other technical related questions which will help you to understand about the hosting provider and their response time.
