Hello Hostrigs, VPS should be setup immediatly, because automatic provisionning is pretty easy to configure, but with dedicated server, it depend on the provider. Most part of providers display the time required for the delivery.

We don't use auto setup and servers and provisioned manually as we often get requests the customer wanting to use their own panel license etc. Never takes more than a couple of hours, cPanel takes 30+ mins alone to install.

It all depends on the hosts. Some host use automation tools to provide speedy deployment, but maybe with the risk of missing security patches. While other hosts manually configure every order to insure full operation and all security patches are deployed.

Its always best to contact any host and ask them directly.

I guess it can take up to 29 hours I think. For the server option appear in your account it may take up to 24 hours. It depends in hosts also.

Most VPS is instantly deployed when dealing with KVM, OpenVZ, Zen. It's generally dedicated servers that can take some provisioning time. However, we even have auto dedicated servers that deploy in under an hour and fully automated.

Let's break this into 2 parts:

1) VPS the provision is automatic so when you finish paying for the VPS it is there for you to use, also we use Virtualzor as a control panel so clients do not matter if is OpenVZ or KVM will have a button on his control panel to choose and install at one click, cPanel, Webmin, VestaCP, Plesk, Interworks, Centos Web Panel, Webuzo, and ISPConfig3. All this just a click, see picture.

Dedicateds are different:

1) if it is not pre-configured need to know what customer wants to install inside so it is build to order and takes a long time also need to rack connect Network and install OS desired, it can take about 1 to 3 days depending on the provider.

2) Pre-configured means that the only thing that you choose is the OS to be installed or you can install it yourself through a KVM/IP it's a little faster but also depends on the provider also can take for 1 to 3 days.

Hope this answers your question.
