I am starting a micro niche site that I have just purchased a long tail domain name. It's rather long with exactly 30 characters but as my analytics, it is getting a good amount of monthly searches hence I can be easy to rank it on SERPs.
In your personal opinion, 30 characters then it's too long or not?
Should I choose a shorter domain name?

Your advice and suggestions are appreciated.

Both Google and Bing have recently said that they will penalise exact match domains for poor quality content, so it would appear that your domain name is becoming less and less important when it comes to ranking.

Certainly getting a keywordreview.com site is a lot harder to rank now than it used to be so the whole question of whether you should use keywords in your domain or not seems to be much harder to answer. I have seen threads that suggest it is a waste of time but also plenty people still pushing it as the way to go.

Personally I would think 30 characters is pushing it but what is more important than the length is how easy it is to remember.
