A lot of people seem to think that blog commenting has seen it's day and that you would be wasting your time doing it anymore.

I and a select % marketers on the other hand know that it still works as long as it's done properly.

There's no point dropping a quick short paragraph on blogs and hoping for traffic because this won't work, but commenting with good thoughtful, helpful comments on popular posts will drive you traffic.

Maybe not oodles of the stuff, but you will get some and it will be super targeted.

It's a natural reaction for us to want to know more about a person that impresses us and it's the same in marketing.

If you leave a comment on a blog that offers something to the original article, then people will click on your name to see who the hell you are and if there is anything else they can learn from you.

Below is a quick strategy for blog commenting for traffic:

You need the blogs that you will be commenting on to have the following:

Good traffic levels
Comments available
Related information to your niche

Use the Feedly app or site and have a list of all the top blogs in your niche. This will keep you informed of all the latest posts as and when published.

Everyday check the app for latest posts and leave a comment.

Now, the comments need to be really good for this to work well.

If you know enough already on the post topic then write your thoughts and add anything you can to make the post better.

If you don't then do a quick bit of research on sites Like Youtube, Facebook, Yahoo answers or your niche forums for the post title and see if there is anything you can add.

This can all be done pretty quickly.

Just one thoughtful and helpful blog comment every day on one blog will only take you 15 minutes to do and maybe 30 minutes if you have to look up a bit of research information.

If you do this every day, then you will start to see a rise in traffic from these blogs and your name in the niche will start to become more well known.

You can direct the traffic to your squeeze page or blog.

Blog commenting does still work and is a good method of free traffic that can be done in just 15 minutes per day.

Just one comment a day will have your name and link ( to blog/squeeze page ) on 28 blog posts in a month, and if you do it correctly, they will be on high traffic popular blogs which means more exposure.

Remember though - Good comments only!

You are correct! Blog commenting is very much alive and is one of my main marketing methods I use for gaining fresh target leads for my web services. I have probably posted on over 100 blogs in the past few months. I see a huge amount of activity hitting my analytics page the past few weeks. They are very niche specific so i end up closing a good amount of these clients.

The main thing is, don't spam! Just give back to the blog, not only will the blog writer/owner appreciate your feedback, but people will try to find out more about you especially if the information you provide is knowledgeable.

Most people think, write quick and multiple responses in every place possible but what you are doing is making yourself look bad. If you have a service-based business, you need to come off as knowledgeable and not spam-looking. Try to spend 10-15 mins a good response to an article every day. You will see results pour in within a week or two.
