Hey guys,
I'd like to know if blog commenting still working?
I'm going to building backlinks from blog comments but need to know it's good way now or not.
Please advise.

With blog comments, you of course have the opportunity to make a number of visits from visitors on blog where you put your comments

Blog commenting is good for generating traffic if you comment on popular blogs that are frequently updated. For instance I've been following John Chow for a very long time so most of time when I leave a comment he replies to my comments so people who read the comments will wonder who I am then click on my site, optin and buy my products.

If you're linking to a squeeze page, like I do, make sure you offer top quality value comments (no fluff), something they can't disapprove because most top blogs don't allow people to link to a squeeze page.

For me, blog commenting is all about building relationships with other bloggers and leveraging their highly targeted traffic. Not for backlinks. I doubt blog comments are still good backlinks, even if they're dofollow.

So don't waste your time, energy and money on blog comments if you're doing it for backl

Dude! Where did you get this info from lol.... You know full well its a myth.... shrouded in secrecy and BS that this sh** dont work hahahaha... nice joke on the other thread lol ;-))

What can I say... its about time we stopped seeing spam comments for the sake of attempting to rank on the serps... especially as most of that crap is nofollow and does nothing... Even if it wasn't, G knows full well the difference between comment links and genuine backlinks... I guess this is another myth that will keep on going on and on...

This...but in an emerging blog (one that is still small-medium traffic) that relationship building can in fact be a link strategy. some blogs i comment on are very quick to link to posts on my own blog and almost never turn down a request from a regular meaningful commenter

only for traffic, else blog commenting is a total waste and if not done correctly its gonna increase bounce rate.

I sense people still get confused with bounce rate on the serps... This is very specific and has nothing to do with referrals to your website from other sites.... It is specific to the SERPS in the following way:

1. User goes to G and types a search...
2. User selects your website from the results....
3. User is not impressed with your website and either hits the back button or goes back to G with the same search query...
4. G logs the fact that the user was not satisfied with your website as answering their question.... as they continued with searching for other results on the serps...

A link from another website which refers traffic to your site will not impact your bounce rate with regards to ranking on the serps as the interaction is not with the search engine... Hope that makes sense ;-)

This also explains the confusion surrounding long posts versus short posts with ranking on the serps... Typically a longer post can help with reducing bounce rates as it may satisfy a users questions on a specific topic... Hence the mantra to write for users with informative insightful posts which help... as that regardless of word count helps your bounce rate, even videos help as long as it satisfies the user needs on a topic....

Either way forget comment spamming as way to rank on the serps... that's the same BS as saying that keyword meta tags help for ranking on the serps lol....

Outside of the most popular sites out there, blog commenting for links is not only a waste of time, but it is also actually risky. You never know when someone is going to stop moderating their site and just start allowing all comments. If that happens, then suddenly what you thought was a useful link is now sharing space with porn, pharma, and gambling links.

Here is the other thing about blog commenting for links. No popular legitimate business is building links through blog comments. You don't see Best Buy, Microsoft, Apple, etc. dropping comments on sites. They could easily employ cheap armies to do it too.
