Yes, it is still worthy, but make sure all these belong to some good ranked and authentic ones.Hi,
Is it still worthy to do the social bookmarking, directory submission and blog commenting?
I heard that Google Penguin update will make a bad effect on the sites that doing these?
Mind sharing that list?Social bookmarking is great for traffic, but the backlinks you get from these hold almost no power (juice).
I submit my articles along with other interesting things I find to 10 social bookmark sites a day (I have a list of 100 I use) and it drives an extra 50-100 visitors which isn't. If someone likes or upvotes my post it tends to hit an extra 400-500 views on Stumbleupon and Digg.
It's good for that, but not for backlinking.
Here we go again. There is no penalty. There is ignoring nontopic oriented backlinks. On topic backinks continue to be a good source of traffic and SEO.With Penguine 4.0 released building backlink from these sources will attract penalty within few days instead of short term boost they provided before release of this algo update. Few people started seeing improvement in SERP ranking even though they were hit by some kind of algo penalty.
