Hello everyone,

My name is Sreekanth, and I'm one of the founder of a Reputation management platform startup. Planning to go in beta in couple of months. We are completely self funded and due to that we need cost effective infrastructure management provider for going long term without draining the pocket. AWS, GCP and Azure and even kamatera are super expensive when we checked. Recently we got enrolled into OVH startup program for getting 12k credits for one year. Before proceeding with the decision, like to know about OVH. I had seen many bad reviews in Trustpilot.

I started testing the reliability and uptime by creating some instances and its pretty solid and no downtime reported for last 15 days. Thought of asking here. I had seen manypsot about their dedicated server but not about cloud instances.

OVH is rock solid in terms of network and many other things except support, their support team is pain in the arse to deal with, so if you don't need support go with OVH, otherwise here is Hetzner, which outperform OVH in price and support.

I used OVH and when my site got ddos attacks, they suspended my server although as I knew, they have ddos protection for servers and I enabled it but no effects, I left them later.

Well depend on what kind of ddos attack did you have had, since OVH never claimed that they can protect your site from Layer 7 ddos protection, which is used for websites/webservers.
In other hand, if your site/server exceeded their protection limit, every host is forced to put that server down/nullroute the ip to protect the network and other customers.

We are not using this for marketing websites. Infact we plan to host our SaaS with their public cloud. They claim to have a decent DDOS protection.

Ovh have been around now for ages. I would worry.

Like you said free credits as well to be honest with you..

Can you think of any other company there given you free credits the way they do??

1000% vouch from me for ovh!

Actually AWS, GCP and Azure have that program but there are gatekeepers like your startup should incubated under accelerators. OVH gives after evaluation of product and founders profile. 12k Credits is more than enough for us to setup infrastructure for one year. Also their cloud is pretty good.
