I would prefer a Paypal to credit card. It is safer because it has restricted use in many countries. The safety of card details online is often not guaranteed but Paypal has eliminated those worries.

PayPal is best recommended when doing transactions online rather than exposing your credit cards information. Specially nowadays that malware are everywhere and are becoming more intelligent. It's safer to use PayPal plus you also have control on the amount of money you want to put into something in case there'll be automatic charges.

I would say Paypal is safer than Credit card when doing transactions online as it does not expose your credit card number. By making payments with PayPal, with your credit card information undisclosed, you can shop without worrying about a hacker downloading your account data.

We know a few clients that use standdard web Forms to collect payment details from customers and then they go to the bank to process that payments, however they have access to all card details. I mean, ALL the staff from this hotels have access to all this details if they go to the office. This is very, very bad. we have told them to start using paypal, but they complain about the commissions and the charge back that some customers do, so they prefer to keep using this horrible and dangerous method :-|

I prefer Paypal because it shields your information from all users you are purchasing to. I haven't heard of Paypal getting problems like stolen information or stolen identities but you never know. So far, Paypal is safer than the direct use of your credit card.

Yes I agree with you Daria that PayPal is much safer than using the credit cards since I am also a PayPal user for how many years already and I haven't heard any complaints regarding PayPal unlike in the credit cards that I usually heard some issues with it. PayPal gives you the full satisfaction and trust that they are looking for a specific international bank. PayPal for my own point of view is reliable and fast efficient.

PayPal would be the best option right now, nothing is safe in this world nowadays but if you're willing to risk then go for a credit card. And also, both are safely possible to used but it really depends on what website or shops you're gonna buy in to. I remember that I recently bought something on Aliexpress using my credit card and as much as I know, nothing bad happens, like you pay with your money and they get the payment and that is it.

I think Paypal, and and then link your credit cart to paypal, It's hart to give some of your personal information through internet specially right now, that there's a lot of scam website out there. Just one mistake and you will loose all your money in your account.

PayPal is the more secure way to shop, send payment and get payment online because you do not have to give your credit / debit card details everytime you make a transaction. When you open your PayPal account, you link it directly to your credit/debit card or bank account where data are encrypted, minimizing risk against fraud or identity theft.

Paypal is also easy to set up. You just download the app and follow the registration process. Its wide acceptance in most countries makes buying and selling online products and services convenient.

Credit / Debit cards normally follow an application process before you can get one like a deposit or proof of income. Information can be easily hacked or scammed although there are already stricter measures installed by the banking system to protect their cardholders. Also, certain cards are not being accepted by merchants or country not covered by the card. Credit limit has be checked to avoid getting a decline.

Paypal acts like your middleman saving you the trouble and uneasy feeling of giving away all your card details every time you transact online.

Based on experience, it's still Paypal to which I give my trust. If they are questionable then why are they still providing service worldwide?

You have to do your own research, though, regarding your credit card bank policies and with Paypal as well (as it depends on your country/location I believe). It's on your own discretion. You have to understand every term because you never know, if a crime happens it might fall back on you. Also, it depends on the site you are buying from. How reliable is it? First and foremost, think twice about buying online.

When shopping online or anything that has to go through payment online, I always make it a point to see what are the different types of payment the online website has to offer. If we are talking about security, privacy and avoidance of being hacked, you can opt or look for COD ( cash on delivery ). That's my go-to-payment all the time. No information given, no credit card details to be given and all.

I am currently working in a big credit card company. We really have bunch of online complaint about account being hacked. Whenever we resolve the issue it keeps happening over and over again. Truth is, whatever card you have whether a debit or a credit would not make much difference. As long as there are people out there who use technology to steal money, it's never gonna stop. Now, once you entered your private information as method of payment in any online market, try not to leave any trace like keeping the information on file or else these blood-thirsty creature will suck the bucks out of your account.

I agree with you joey_2tep. I heard a lot of incident about credit card being hacked. Everyone must be very careful and must secure our card's details with all our best. This is possible to happen also with our Paypal account if we leave it unsecured. Meanwhile, credit card providers are trying their best to add or improve security features in their system.

Just use Paypal, it's designed for security plus many other perks included such as online shopping, online payments and much more. Also, the reputation of Paypal speaks for itself so you don't need to be hesitant. Do not use a credit card directly for an online transaction, it's better for personal use only not on the web.

Honestly, I would prefer Paypal since I really don't trust anymore the banking system in our country and for me, Paypal is much safer. I also find online banking with credit cards more complicated than the system Paypal have on their website.

If the purpose is for shopping then I highly suggest you use PayPal. I exactly understand how you feel because it's an uneasy feeling to give a part of your identity or information to people you don't really know. You can't just entrust your personal information/account information with monetary dealings as it could be a way for hackers to get their turn. PayPal is much safer as you will not expose your bank related information.

I personally prefer PayPal as form of payment method specially shopping online. I like and trusted PayPal, I'm using this for over 2 yrs now. Entering your credit card information is risky and uncomfortable. Hackers are everywhere so we need to be extra careful to our information that our financial aspects would be involved. It's the fruit of our toil to be enjoyed by ourselves, not by others.

I would choose Paypal. I use this for my online transactions all the time. It's much secure, easy way to pay and get paid online instead of directly providing someone with your personal credit/banking information. I would not risk it. Also experience credit card fraud in the past and the requirements on proving that you are actually got fraud is such a pain. If you want, to do online transactions use Paypal. It would not get its credibility if their services are not on top.

I'd rather use PayPal than my credit card because I don't have to worry that the merchant where I'm buying would see my card number, security code, and the expiry date. It is not only protects me from unscrupulous vendors, but it also makes it less likely that thieves will intercept my card details via an unsecured internet connection. It gave me more confident on shopping online.

Absolutely true. Paypal has a safety measure and it protects each user too. Unlike to credit card, you have to give your personal details sometimes. How I wish here in my country paypal can use anywhere. Unfortunately, I can only use paypal on purchasing online air ticket in my country.
