Yes, I asking because i prefer Plesk all my life

but cpanel is very requested
Plesk Onyx is more ergonomic and interface is very intuitive. It include all modern features to manage wordpress and make website loading fast and secured.
Best features :
- WordPress Toolkit
- Let's Encrypt
- Git Support
- Docker
- Node.js Support
- Apache + Nginx
- All extensions : pagespeed module, plesk migrator, security advisor etc..

cPanel/WHM is more designed for web hosting providers, that's why there are two panel. cPanel for users, WHM for administrators.
Each panel provide all features needed, but it make cPanel usage harder on a vps for a single user. Switching between cPanel and WHM is painful

Yes Plesk seems customized better than cPanel but cPanel is more user friendly for newbies. If you are a new person to web hosting control then with cPanel you didn't need to read more document to use it while Plesk is a bit difficult to use their interface and guide there.

but cpanel is very requested
Who requests? because everyone didn't have a chance to choose hosting control panel on a shared hosting thus they must go with the choice of their provider.
If it was on a VPS or dedicated server, then it depends on each person, some could choose Plesk while others will choose cPanel for any purposes.

On VPS Plesk Onyx is cheaper than cPanel, and the Web Pro license for 30 domains is enough for almost all users, and cost only 10$/mo with a vps and $15 with a dedicated server.
Web Host license with unlimited domain, cost the same than cPanel

You are right on this point, Plesk only offers 10 sites on web admin edition plan so if someone is having more than 10 websites but want to use Plesk license at $4.17/mo then should consider before going with this option.

cPanel is expensive than Plesk but they offered all features at a price.

IMO, cPanel is great for PHP hosting and Plesk is great for ASP.Net hosting as it supports that out of the box. And cPanel has a good win on the shared hosting because of CloudLinux. I do not know is CloudLinux supports Plesk?

Plesk Onyx support Cloudlinux too, with discount on Plesk + Cloudlinux license. And Cgroups resources management is included with Plesk Onyx to limit user resources usage without having to pay for Cloudlinux
Plesk on linux is most popular than Plesk on Windows, and you can install Plesk on Centos/Debian/Ubuntu/Cloudlinux with multi-php version support, Apache + Nginx.
cPanel is very popular with all US Shared hosting providers, but it's not the same in Europe

We've always been a Plesk shop but over the last few years we started to focus on Cpanel more. I think I'm going to move our focus back to Plesk. I really like the direction they are going in with Onyx. Every host offers cheap Cpanel hosting. You aren't exactly going to stand out from the crowd. Yep, back to Plesk in a big way.

for me is a nightmare moving on cpanel! I really dont like and i dont know why, client who buy the cpanel licenseand install on server ALL but really ALL client after 2-3 month has hacked server.I really dont explain the reason :violent:

mmm..there is a few things cPanel can't and Plesk does:

  1. automatic backup: setup automatic backup also via ftp to another server
  2. plesk migrator move site very easy and quickly

if i remember better, cpanel don't.

There is nothing of value that cPanel can do that Plesk can't.

Both have similar features. What you need to consider is the price. If you are hosting under 10 domains then you should purchase Plesk web admin edition which costs only $4.17

cPanel have automatic backup ( FTP or you can even choose Amazon S3 ) and yes it have a Transfer Tool also. ( Support cross platform migration. Eg, Plesk to cPanel, DirectAdmin to cPanel )

I've found that Plesk is fine for personal use. However if you are selling hosting cPanel is the way to go. I don't think we've ever had a single request for Plesk hosting, not a single one!

Hello CaygriWEB,

cPanel
and Plesk are two of the most popular web hosting control panels. cPanel is known for its ease of use, while Plesk is known for its flexibility. Both control panels offer a wide range of features, but there are some key differences between them. cPanel is only available for Linux servers, while Plesk works on both Linux and Windows servers. cPanel also offers a more user-friendly interface, while Plesk offers more advanced features.

cPanel has a simple graphical interface that allows access and management of most of the features (PGP keys, FTP accounts, mailing lists, and more) from the front end. In addition, it has a command line and offers API-based access that automates administration tasks. On the contrary, Plesk provides an intuitive interface and ready-to-code environment with Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python, .NET support, and PHP. Furthermore, it is organized into different sections that facilitate faster working and provides role-based access across all devices.

cPanel also offers a wide range of integrations, while Plesk has a more limited selection. cPanel is a good choice for beginners, while Plesk is a good choice for more experienced users. Both control panels are fast, stable, and secure, offering feature-rich web hosting management tools that simplify workloads and help users to succeed.

Ultimately, it comes down to what you need from your control panel - if you want simplicity and ease of use, go with cPanel. However, if you need more power and flexibility, Plesk is the way to go.

I hope the information above helps you to understand the difference between cPanel & Plesk and clear your thoughts for the Plesk control panel.
