I checked on this forum and found more shared hosting plans with low price but great specifications, just $1+ / month. I will have cPanel for these shared plans but I am confusing that I should build a VPS to host multi sites that I have better resource because VPS is faster than shared hosting as I knew. Which one is better? Buying shared hosting to host a website or build a server to host multi sites?

Hello, Greetings.

How much concurrent traffic / visitors you would be expecting and type [E-commerce, blog, any other] of sites!
Shared and VPS, Both have their own perks! depending upon scenario!

regards

If you chose some great shared hosting providers, you should go with this option. It save fee to setup a self server and time to manage it.

Shared hosting is cheap and easy to manage. If you are serious about a certain project, it might be wise to spend a lot of time to focus on that solely and use shared hosting for it.

So your going to by hosting for 1 dollar and host customers how? If you plan to host customers you can do so with a reseller hosting plan from $10 to $25 per month and you will have whm for your hosting company and clients will have cpanel for their websites. As your company grows you can upgrade to a vps or add a second reseller plan enjoy....

How many websites do you intend to host and what traffic do they usually get?

I like using VPS over a shared hosting because its resource is dedicated resource and you are not shared with other sites on same IP.

I think a managed hosting would be a best option rather than shared hosting

It all depends on how many sites you are going to host and how big are the sites. If the site is pretty basic, shared hosting package may be much better for you. However, if the site is complex, uses lots of different modules and has lots of traffic, VPS is better.

If you want to power your personal blogs or host startup websites with much fewer visitors, then it is a good idea to start with the shared hosting to host your multiple sites, the most economical option for hosting for visitors up to 100K. If the visitor increases, then upgrade it to the VPS as it is secure but is costlier than a shared server. If your concern is regarding security, then VPS Server is the best pick for you in comparison to that of a shared one.

According to my experience, I started with a shared hosting and when site grows, I have to change to a VPS because the hosting could not accommodate the connections or resources of my website. It is right time to use a VPS, also you consider using VPS if you have a high traffic site as @hostens suggested above.

cPanel have just increased the pricing, so those who sell web hosting at $1/mo or at other cheap prices, will be forced to switch to other control panels. The reasonable prices of shared hosting start around $5/month. could be less but for a limited amount of resources.

Go ahead and get the shared hosting for your immediate requirements, but also it is recommended to also go for VPS for your developmental purposes and you will become skilled VPS administrator with practice. Then you will be able to confidently run your own servers for hosting multiple websites.

VPS is better and has many advantages over a shared hosting, believe me....and you can host multi sites on a VPS like you buy many shared hosting plans.
