I am going to move my hosting from cPanel to Plesk to use for websites because I see Plesk is easier to setup and control things on it. What about you? Are you using cPanel or Plesk? why? any shares?

Generally depending on personal taste you can choose.
Plesk graphical environment is more beautiful.
No need to configure everything to be installed with a few clicks.
Plesk also supports asp.net if installed on Windows.
Some features in Plesk are free, but you must purchase a separate license in cpanel

I wouldn't move from cPanel to Plesk. They are both owned by the same VC and subjected to the same price increases they have been imposing. I would recommend if you do opt to move, that you pick an alternative like Interworx.

Plesk and cPanel are two highly acknowledged control panels that are mainly employed by web hosting companies. They both provide the menus, functionality, and organized interfaces for file management on the server. cPanel is more easy to use than plesk. However the use case depends on your requirements. Cheers!

I wouldn't say either is "easier" to use. It comes down to the UI you are use to.

I am using cpanel curently and totally satisfied with it. cPanel has GUI and helps alot with its easy to use feature. I always recommend cpanel instead of Plesk control panel.

I mean... just cause you decide to use cPanel doesn't mean you're locked to one provider.... can still switch anytime....

really. you try it mate...... sucks migrating one act at a time. or trying to make sense of DB records to export into a foreign db table.... nightmere. Besides the support for paid version of VMin or WEBMin etc is actually very good, large community of users. and its pretty darn good. lots of automation and billing integration etc....And teh paid version is still cheaper than Cpanel...

I'll stick with cPanel, although other panels like Plesk, Webmin, Virualmin and others work well.

We don't actually use either of them. But, having said that, they are both very capable pieces of software.

I think the biggest selling point for cPanel is that at this point it is the de facto 'standard' and people are used to it, whatever control panel you choose to use a lot of people will expect it to look and work like cPanel, which is hwy other solutions have 'cPanel skins'.

Personally I prefer the UI of Plesk and if we were going to deploy one of those two then that is probably the one we'd choose.

Hello JTexan,

cPanel
and Plesk are two of the most popular web hosting control panels. cPanel is known for its ease of use, while Plesk is known for its flexibility. Both control panels offer a wide range of features, but there are some key differences between them. cPanel is only available for Linux servers, while Plesk works on both Linux and Windows servers. cPanel also offers a more user-friendly interface, while Plesk offers more advanced features.

cPanel has a simple graphical interface that allows access and management of most of the features (PGP keys, FTP accounts, mailing lists, and more) from the front end. In addition, it has a command line and offers API-based access that automates administration tasks. On the contrary, Plesk provides an intuitive interface and ready-to-code environment with Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python, .NET support, and PHP. Furthermore, it is organized into different sections that facilitate faster working and provides role-based access across all devices.

Plesk is another popular web hosting control panel that offers many of the same features as cPanel. However, Plesk's interface is more geared toward developers and those with more technical knowledge. Some of the key features of Plesk include:
  • Easy server management with multiple server support
  • A wide range of developer tools, including Git, Composer, and Drush
  • A customizable interface
  • Support for multiple languages

cPanel is one of the market's most popular web hosting control panels. Its user-friendly interface makes it easy to manage your website, email accounts, databases, and more. cPanel also offers a wide range of features, including:
  • Automatic updates
  • One-click installs for popular applications like WordPress
  • A wide range of tutorials and online support
  • A built-in file manager

cPanel also offers a wide range of integrations, while Plesk has a more limited selection. cPanel is a good choice for beginners, while Plesk is a good choice for more experienced users. Both control panels are fast, stable, and secure, offering feature-rich web hosting management tools that simplify workloads and help users to succeed.

Ultimately, it comes down to what you need from your control panel - if you want simplicity and ease of use, go with cPanel. However, if you need more power and flexibility, Plesk is the way to go.
