We utilize WHMCS V6 intergrated into our site, by means of programming interface's and different angles and to be fair we extremely like it and have not any issues with security or bugs.

Generally its provided to be a strong billing system and also feature packed.
The security also seems to be resolved in WHMCS v6, also with us running OpenID auth, we haven't had any issues either.

We haven't personally used Blesta, but have heard it puts up a good fight against the others systems.
Its down to personal preference we believe between the two now.
Maybe someone else can provide some more information.

We have used both and hands down, our vote is WHMCS. We used Blesta for 3 years waiting for proper domain management and there's no sign of it still. It's also very poorly laid out for customers from our experience. If you follow the suggested security protocols (moving your templates, crons, etc folders, locking down the config file, etc), your site will be safe. WHMCS does cost more and you get a lot more for your money with less frustrations and better useability for your customers, and admins. It wasn't until we returned to WHMCS that we realized how much we had given up by using Blesta.

You can always setup a trial of both programs and see which works best for you and your customers.
