We are having a tough decision in here.
WHMCS or Blesta ?

Initial decision was to go with WHMCS but it seems Blesta has more options on it.

Which one do you use and which one would you recommend ?

Well, I suggest you go with Blesta. Security matters to me most and that's why I am with Blesta myself. I will be the first to admit that there are certain aspects that are frustrating when compared to WHMCS but in the personal business I am running, Blesta is a winner. I have to admit that I am a bit subjective but I am speaking from experience. I have tried not only WHMCS and Blesta but also other web hosting management platforms and I gotta say Blesta is by far the easiest to develop for and it's extraordinarily well coded and well documented. The staff and development team are much more responsive to questions and receptive to ideas/suggestions than any other competitor out there.

Hi,

we currently working to launch a new brand and we plan to go with whmcs again.... because the domain management in blesta is deficient compared to whmcs and the blesta domain manager is still in planning mode since almost than 2 years (https://www.blesta.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7197-domain-manager-we-need-your-feedback-on-domains/)...

Also, it's more easy to find plugins and extensions for whmcs. Almost all domain registrars and ssl providers provide module for whmcs....

I personnaly don't like whmcs that much... but it's the more complete and compatible than any others at this moment...

I will continue to look at blesta as it's seems a promising alternative.

I love that I got answers for both WHMCS and Blesta.
It really keeps the discussion going and interesting.
I will read from both sides and we will decide
I must say Blesta is in the lead, but we will see.
Thank you.

@A15Mv2 Why do you make unsupported suggestions? I have reviewed the Blesta's Demo and for now it is far behind WHMCS in terms of automation, integration with 3rd party services and functionality. It is good that there is an alternative on the market, but cPanel bought WHMCS, simply because it was a good product and they have continued developing it.

@HostColor I didn't say anything about automation and functionality. My point is Blesta is a better platform for the personal business I am currently running. Not to mention, I admitted that I was subjective when I wrote my suggestion. I also mentioned how there are certain aspects that makes WHMCS the better one. So, there's no point in digging deeper into my comment. Have a Good Day!

Thank you for your honest reply !
Could you give me some more description on why do you think it is the best ?
Do you use it and what makes you feel it is the best thing out there for this matter ?
Just trying to find out why people like certain tools.

My personal recommendation would be Blesta. You're correct that it doesn't have quite the automation as WHMCS does but we've been using it for several years now and it is leaps and bounds better than WHMCS when it comes to big data. Also KH specifically has been working with Blesta on the domain name side of things, our staff have contributed to the namesilo module to bring it leaps and bounds ahead with functionality and we'll be working closely with Blesta when it comes to the refactoring of domain names.

True WHMCS was bought by cPanel's owner (but not by cPanel) we just don't like the direction they have gone with licensing limitations and upcharges for number of accounts and feel that Blesta will be the future for this style of program. The one downside of Blesta I would say is the support ticket system, it works but it's not as feature rich so I'd recommend a third party ticketing system outside of Blesta if you have a huge volume.

Whmcs is popular for a reason. It has very good functionality, integrates well with other services with all its plugins, and it's fairly easy to use.

One thing that bugs me is the discount code system is not as good as I would like it. It's limited

Not using Blesta currently, but that doesn't mean we won't be testing it down the line. For now, we're committed to WHMCS simply because it has all of the functionality we need.

Thats a quite good answer since you already made a yourself comfortable with what you are using.
Down the line, as you said, testing everything to find out what suits you the best is a best possible approach.
I hope to read your posts if you ever test it.

For my blesta it is too simple, for which I have always searched

whmcs is more ordered, has more options, better and active addons.

I do not think there is any comparison at this time with whmcs

What do you think about blesta as a tool for newbies ?
Myself and some of my crew are new also.
Would you recommend blesta for people who just entered this kind of field ?

I would suggest to go with WHMCS, the developement is faster and they have a deal with cPanel to add more functionalities.

WHMCS is well established in the hosting market since years. Blesta made a good progress but still need some time to earn the trust of hosting providers.

Worked with both. WHMCS does have more features/plugins/etc. Blesta isn't a bad product but does have some development that needs to be done.
