cPanel Data Collection

I recently was browsing around cpanel.net and I found the following.

The two questions that came to mind were

#1. Where did they get these numbers from because surely they aren't receiving data on the actions occurring on every cPanel/WHM installation.
#2. If they are collecting this data, who is okay with this? I for one am not.

I would not think every cPanel server is reporting stats but who knows, it's possible. If their was such a thing I would think cPanel would mention the data collection in the terms of service.

surely they collect such data, cpanel is their own product so they will be knowing how many of us installing/removing their products.

We can't questions that privilege because they developed that software and they distributed in a descent price moreover almost 80% of hosting companies are using that product. But they can mention those things in their customer agreement but the truth is nobody read sch policies neither i do.

Hello,
It does not matter because it is the fact that Cpanel is used by lots of industry so it could be true also.
And yes Cpanel is a good product for use.
