I am considering hosting more than 10 websites on one hosting account that allows multiple addon domains.
But they are going to have a similar IP address and is this bad for SEO? If I do crosslinking between them will I get any ranking boost or not?

No, it will not make any difference to SEO.
Google will view each site as it's own entity. Many myths still exist about SEO and multi domain hosting, most of which are untrue.

Incoming and Outgoing links are always a good thing, if your content is relevant to the links it should give you a boost.

Based on my experience.

Not effect and SEO based on Domain Authority. Focus content and traffic you will get high on search engine optimization.

Content is the most important part when it comes to SEO, however a dedicated IP can't hurt since it would decrease the loading times which would benefit SEO ranking.

The only thing that you have to make sure is not linking each domain name in the same hosting account with each other because that will cause duplicate content on different domain names.

I know it's little bit old topic, but hope it is still active.
There is no impact on domains with same IP, there is hundreds sites with same IP, specially websites from shared hosting.
But cross linking between them from same IP may not have any impact on SEO at all. If you ever submit websites to directory you know that you should avoid submission on directory network from same reason they are all on same IP and same provider.
If your addon domains are part of your website like: blog.yourdomain.com forum.yourdomain.com, it is wise to make some cross linking.

Traffic is most important after page SEO and quality backlinks, because if there no traffic on site SE and people think that there is nothing important to find.

As other members here said: there is no impact on SEO.

I advise you to keep every site you own on different account/host. If something happens with the account/host you won't loose 10 sites.

I'm not 100% sure whether it helps or not, but I know some SEO software seems to check things like linking IP addresses, linking domains, governmental domains, educational domains, but more importantly linking subnets which they use for ranking factors, so there could be something to it.

I would suggest hosting websites from different providers or provider who offers IPs from different subnets, and link them back to each other if possible. It certainly can't hurt to do that, and that way you aren't keeping all your eggs in the same basket so to speak as TheHost mentioned above. Killing two birds with one stone that way, or at least killing one of them.

You can use multiple domain name on one web hosting account but you should not use same content on all websites. It is not bad idea to host multiple domain name in same web hosting account. But if you are using this idea for PBN then be ware form Google Planarity.

I think it's YES if your 10 websites are in the same niches and market, then they will compete each other. Otherwise they will not have any affect in SEO.

As mentioned, it will not effect anything with SEO. You will not gain nor lose anything from doing this.

I don't see how it would affect your SEO strategy but bare in mind if you are utilizing those 10 domains as PBN's then you better change your plan ASAP! Also if there is a spyke in traffic, then chances are you might have to change the plan.
