Hello,
In the current era, facebook is more Popular then Google Plus and also Facebook have more user then Google Plus. So i personally recommend you Facebook for driving more traffic to your site. but if you ask to get high rank in Google then you have to move on Google+ page.

Why ask which one is better? It`s not like you are obliged to choose just one social media platform.
I have said it on another thread, and I will say it here: If you want the best results you will have to create accounts on ALL the social media platforms.

All of you know that facebook is the world largest social media site and plays an important role in traffic generation. So I like facebook than google+ or other social sites.

You should have both. Google+ page is great for organic ranking - especially if you're doing local SEO, while with Facebook page you are targeting audience on Facebook... Both are a must have!

I have a page on Google+ with 20k of users, when I post a post into it, I have got only about 15 - 30 visitors come to my site.
I have another page on Facebook with same niche with 3k users, but when I post a post, I have received 150 to 200 visitors.

So, you can tell me which is better ?
This brings up an interesting thing to look at... I personally find and could point you to others that have found the same, G+ may be less in terms of traffic, but by percentage of conversion is far greater. I honestly could care less how many link go over to my site.. I care about how many link over and buy something. As important as traffic is, its the conversion percentage from these points of entry that has to be watched.

How exactly does Google+ page help with ranking - how is this purpose realized?
If you use feedburner for your RSS feed ( A google Product ) when you publish content it automatically does 2 things. it indexes the new content on Google, AND it sends a notice to your G+ page that new content has been added. I am not going to say it always happens, but with low comp keywords it happens more frequently, on the first page of listings your new automatic G+ post linking to new content on your site will be listed. Very important here.. this listing is NOT permanent. I have seen it last hours, and in very few cases a day at the most. IF you get a share from on your G+ posting.. it will remain longer. ( more towards the one day ) My assumption is that the more clicks this listing gets.. the better your chances for a dang near instant decent listing of your site page content listing well is far greater.

Facebook delivers your own freinds to your website/blog while Google+ attracts huge crowds of people interested to your website. You can also get a free backlink from google+. I suggest Facebook only for famous brands and companies not for personal blogs or websites. It won't help! But it can seriously help if you try advertising.

It definitely depends on your niche, but as others have indicated, you should do BOTH.

I've found that G+ as been particularly effective reaching freelancers/entrepreneurs. Whereas Facebook is more of a vanilla, broad-reach asset. G+ is crawled DAILY which means you can grab the Google monster by the horns and force it to pay attention with frequent posts there.
