Normally my client pay me via Paypal but they request to pay directly with their credit card but I don't have this payment method. My question is, how to allow my client to pay direct with their credit or debit card?

Many thanks!

You can link any bank card to the PayPal system and make transfers to any PayPal account.

Another vote for stripe from me. Once setup and a client pays you, it can be sent straight to your bank daily, as the fastest payout option.

The client pays with their card you receive into your bank as a standard bank transfer in.

You are either going to need to setup a merchant account with your bank, which is going to be very expensive and not at all worth it for just a few clients, or use a payment processing company.

As others have mentioned, Stripe are very good, easy to implement and reasonable charges.

But I seem to remember PayPal having the option to allow people to pay by card without being a PayPal member, is that not still the case?

You can still pay without a PayPal account and use use your card to pay yeah. I did it the other day. It does ask you if you want to pay by card only and also asks if you want to sign up to PayPal in the same form but you don't have to.

But for someone accepting payments for business on a regular basis it would be a bit of hassle. You have to create an invoice to pay, send the customer the link then it brings up the option to pay by card.

Yeah, that does sound like a bit hassle.

When hosting customers start requesting this direct credit card payments they normally want an interface that is dedicated directly to credit card processing. Many of them do not understand that PayPal, Skrill and others process cards without accounts or easy to setup accounts and they do not care. They simply want a safe, secure easy to use payment method.

Some suggestions for you would be:
  • 2checkout.com/pricing/
  • authorize.net/en-us/sign-up/pricing.html
These are two of the more popular ones for many webhosts. I would choose 2co for their customer service, low cost to implement and no monthly charge. Now if you begin processing large amounts of credit cards it might be cheaper to pay a monthly processing fee with a lower percentage of each transaction and lower per transaction fee.

There are others out there that integrate with many shopping carts. WHMCS has many already built in if you are using them and others like Blesta and Hostbill offer plugins for many of these as well.

Simply set up a small WP website with products to the bill, and stripe and PayPal as payment merchants.
We can help you in setting that up

Blesta and WHMCS are two platforms in the hosting industry that handle what you are looking for. I am looking to implement WHMCS shortly. I heard better things about WHMCS then blesta.
