What is the best cloud hosting service between Google cloud or Amazon cloud hosting? I saw more advertisements for these providers but I don't know their pricing and features. Can anyone tell me more details?

Both services are similar it depends on that cloud GUI, features, and ecosystem you are comfortable with and have the features you need for your project.

What about their price? I heard that I have to pay more if I use their service and their prices are always higher than other hosting companies, is that right?

Yes, it is true. But I think they provide Pay as you go billing module which is better for the ones that really need these services.

Hi user,

I think both are best, and on the other side they have complexities too. Both are giants, and they have their own data centers, and they offer flexibility and helps you store data on the cloud. The difference is in the security aspects, like google encrypts the data during transmission and AWS has its general transmission channel. Moreover, there is a difference in the storage size they offer.

Google offers cloud volume sizes from about 1Gb to 64Tb, while AWS provides from 500Gb to 16Tb. Lastly, I think their pricing models are different. As you are talking about the providers' advertisements, I have seen that other than these giants, many managed service providers offer cloud services like hosted virtual desktops and desktop as services. And they are doing pretty well in the market.

Some reputable providers have been able to build thousands of happy customers in the global market. They have the edge over the giants as they understand their customer insights and help them with every technical aspect and at a nominal price. Let me know if anything else from my side.

Google Cloud Vs AWS
  • Google Cloud offers Google Cloud Storage, while AWS offers Amazon Simple Storage Services.
  • Google Cloud volume size is 1 GB to 64 TB while AWS volume size is 500 GB to 16 TB.
Flexibility, security, scalability, and better performance are some important features of AWS.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) provides various cloud computing services, including computing, data analytics, data storage, and machine learning.

Here is the best comparison between AWS and GOOGLE CLOUD.

AWS

Pricing: Per hour basis
What is: AWS is a secure, cloud service platform developed and managed by Amazon.
Containers: Docker, Kubernetes.
Best feature: It dominates the public cloud market by offering a range of cloud-based products and services.
Main service: The flagship computes service of AWSis Elastic Compute Cloud or EC2.
Cost: It's on a little higher end in terms of compute and storage costs.
Object Storing: Amazon Simple Storage Services also called (AWS S3)

GOOGLE CLOUD

Pricing: Per-minute basis.
What is: Google Cloud Platform is a suite of Google's public cloud computing resources and services.
Containers: Kubernetes Only.
Best feature: It specializes in high compute offerings like Big Data but is fairly new to the cloud scene.
Main service: Google's primary service compute Engine.
Cost: It's a clear winner with its competitive pricing as compared to AWS.
Object Storing: Google Cloud Storage.

I checked both google cloud and Amazon cloud hosting but both are very complex to config or setup, it didn't like normal server hosting that I have ever tried :)

1. You can follow these points while you are choosing the best hosting company for you:
-Check the web host’s server uptime record
-Check if they offer multiple add-on domains
-Ask about the company’s refund policy.
-Find out what a basic contract offers.
-Check for specialty features.
-Always check the reviews

Both are very expensive so I would suggest to select small cloud hosting provider for lower price.

As many have mentioned both can be complex for the average user and can be expensive as well. What you get from each is a huge infrastructure that is well established, but the customer service side is a bit more impersonal and less supportive.

My problem with Google and Amazon providing hosting services, domains, etc is that they are not really good at it. They are simply looking for more money and growth even if they are not really good at the service they are implementing.

Take Amazon for example: They started as an online book seller, then expanded into other products in a one stop shop format, but what really makes them a web hosting provider? The books they read from their own website?

Then there is Google: They have the tech side covered for sure, but their specialty is their search engine. Take a look at the over 200 acquisitions they have made in the past 20 years. Many were shuttered because google realized that they could not make them work.

I am all for growth by a company, but only when it makes sense. The only people who are truly hurt when a company expands into an area outside their expertise will eventually be their customers.
