I used cPanel on most my hosting control panels but had not a chance to use ISPManager in the past, I would give it a try for a new VPS. I am wondering there are some web hosts here used ISPManager. what are your reviews for this control panel and how compared to cPanel?

ISPManager is imo old and outdated such as other panels like DirectAdmin.

If I was going choose something other than cPanel I'd go with Plesk or Webmin.

+1 for cPanel hossting panel.
I don't think there are any hosting panels out there can defeat cPanel on user interface and features aspect.

I'd say cPanel if within budget, if not, ISPManager is much cheaper and does the job! But cPanel is way better and is worth the money, IMO.

Always cPanel.

But...It all depends on your requirements. Are you going to use it for yourself only? Are your clients going to use it? If it's only for yourself, the choice is easy. Pick the one that suits you the most. But, if you have clients and if they plan on using your control panel, then get cPanel. Everyone is used to cPanel. It has the best UI. Even beginners can use cPanel, but I can't really say the same for other panels too.

Another but. If you want an open source/free alternative then go with ISPConfig, VestaCP, Webmin, Floxlor or Ajenti.

ISPmanager is a good alternative if you need a more cost-effective control panel than cPanel. In terms of functionality and support, it's there. In terms of the pricing - much more affordable.

Did you tried this hosting panel?
If yes, then how to compare it with Plesk or Directadmin?
I am going to move to Plesk for all my websites but considering other options.

cPanel is amazing and clearly the most popular panel. Second place would be plesk. Directadmin & ISPmanager seems to lag far behind in terms of popularity

Hello wpspeedster,

There are a lot of different web hosting control panels out there, and it can be hard to decide which one is right for you. ISPmanager and cPanel are two of the most popular control panel options for your website.

ISPmanager is a popular web hosting control panel with many features and is very user-friendly. cPanel is another popular option packed with features and is very user-friendly. So, which one should you choose? Here's a quick overview of each control panel:
ISPmanager:
  • Lots of features
  • User-friendly interface
  • Easy to Setup
cPanel:
  • Lots of features
  • User-friendly interface
  • More expensive than ISPmanager

If you're trying to decide between ISPmanager and cPanel, you should keep a few things in mind:
  1. Consider what sort of features you need. ISPmanager is an excellent choice if you need comprehensive server management features, while cPanel is more geared toward website management.
  2. Think about ease of use. ISPmanager has a more learning curve than cPanel, but once you get the hang of it, it's very powerful. cPanel, on the other hand, is much easier to use from the get-go.
  3. Lastly, you must consider the price to choose from the above options according to your needs.
ISPmanager is generally more expensive than cPanel, but it does offer more features.

So, which one is better? It really depends on your needs and budget. If you need a lot of features and don't mind paying a bit more, then cPanel might be a good option. However, if you're on a tight budget, then ISPmanager might be a better choice.

Thus, I hope the information above helps you understand the difference between cPanel and ISPmanager web hosting control panels.

I am pay $35/ month for cPanel license on a server, I think you should consider some cheaper that to save fees.

I have had the opportunity to work with ispmanager in the latest version, and I must say it is a lovely panel. Many cool features have been added recently - Docker support, bulk mail migration, and Python support. And all this at a price incomparable to cPanel. Overall, an excellent panel is no worse than cPanel or Plesk.
