I have used by Arvixe and HostGator and I would steer clear of both of them. Both have similar stories, as they were once good hosting companies. HostGator was my favorite for years. Never had problems.
That was then, and now they have both been acquired by EIG, meaning their server performance went down dramatically and their once superior support is now horrendous.
Look for non-EIG hosts like SiteGround, InMotion or A2 Hosting. There are others but I have used all three of these and recommend them.
