Never heard of them, although this does not necessarilyean they are not good.

Chances are, they are a reseller and not a registrar

Same never heard of them. I would stick with NameCheap or GoDaddy for names.

I don't have any experience with 101domain, but I notice that they have some domains little bit expensive.
You can see that they are listed in InterNIC https://www.internic.net/alpha.html
Check domains offers from some of hosting provider at this forum

Never heard of them either. But everyone needs to start somewhere, as a business. If you are ok with giving them a try go ahead. There are many more well know registrars out there, I would personally recommend enom and resellerclub as 2 I've used.

Hey there aussielunix, I can confirm that 101domain is indeed a reliable registrar! Source: I work for 101domain. We're a small registrar that has made it our mission to provide the best customer experience in the industry while offering every domain extension available under one roof. We still have a lot of work to get where we want on the customer experience side, but we currently offer over 3000+ domain extensions across ccTLDs and gTLDs, and have hundreds of accreditations.

Let me know if there's anything we can help you with!

I have used them in the past and never had any issues with them and everything worked well. I only had a couple of domains with them and never needed to contact support at all so I really can't speak to their level of support.

Usually when I want to try out a new registrar I will register a couple of names for minor projects/needs just to see how things go. If they work out well then I will consider using them for more domains and more important projects.

If comparing to namecheap, name.com and godaddy how 101domain is rated? and does it have any advantages over those?

enom and resellerclub? I didn't know about them, just having a check.
Why you recommend them? are they good?

Thanks you guys for your reviews and feedback about this domain registrars, to be honest I have not used 101domain in the past, just a recommendation from a friend recently, I am hosting my domain names at Namecheap, Name.com, Godaddy and Onlinenic, all these domain registrars are ok but I am still trying other providers, it will give me good experience and can find out what domain registrars are providing best services.

Couple of advantages and a couple of disadvantages, realistically.

Advantages: More selection. We offer everything under the sun, the registrars you listed are mostly bulk generic registrars and get most of their revenue through up-selling add-on products. We also provide personal customer service, and very powerful admin tools, built for professionals who handle large portfolios.

Disadvantages: Our pricing is not always the lowest. Although we are competitive across the board, some higher volume registrars, like godaddy, get better pricing from some of the registries, or can afford to eat loses in the first year registration prices (like $.99 .com), expecting to make it up with wildly higher renewal prices, or add-on products.

We do take customer service very seriously at 101domain though. We had a patch when we first started where we weren't staffed correctly, and some people had some bad experiences. Since then we've upped our game a ton, and will continue to do so, until we are the hands-down leader in the industry. If you see or hear anything that makes you question that statement, please let me know so I can get it corrected!

Best,

Hi aussielunix,

I'm not entirely sure of your question, my apologies! All of the domain names you purchase through 101domain you manage through your 101domain customer panel. Even domains that require use to fax smoke signals for a DNS change to the registry are all controlled by you within your panel.

We do offer reseller services, but we're direct to consumer first and foremost.

Thanks,

Jeff

You said right, I am buying 2 domains today and just having a check on your site and godaddy, saw the different like you said.
When I click on search icon to check a new domain, it listed me a bunch of generic registrars with different prices, i have to admit that it's is easy to pick one for better price.

Your pricing is not cheap, i ton'd know why you offered high price like that while namecheap and goddady is offering lower prices, you can lose your customers from this point.

Here's which I am checking on Godaddy and they are offering lower, I know I need to use coupon code with a new account to archive that price but it's attracting me.

Although 101 Domain is one of the few I haven't tried, I have been considering using them for a couple domains just to kind of test them out. They do have some good transfer rates on a couple of extensions that I have renewals coming up on so tht might be what I do.

As with any registrar that you haven't tried yet, I would suggest testing them out with a couple of domains and see how it works out. I have seen a lot of people up nd move dozens or even hundreds+ domains to a new registrar only to find out there was a problem. I say that 101 is worth a try though so I would go for it.

Not to get too overtly sales-y, but we have recently dropped transfer in pricing on almost every extension, in some cases very significantly.

Yes, I have noticed that myself. I am in many of the top domain circles and forums and own many domains. Pricing is a top priority for me based on the numbers I have. Customer service and support is a top one as well.

I have some domains that I am thinking of moving to your company to try things out based on a couple of things. One is pricing of course and the other is the fact that I have not seen any negative information on your company in domain circles, and that's a big plus for a domainer and website owner. :thumb:

I have never come across that site but I would suggest you to stick with the reputed ones around like Namecheap or Namesilo.
