Hi there!
I'm planning to switch to a new Top-Level Domain. Does my site lose rank when I do this? Should I just use a 301 redirect and set back? :rolleyes2:
What if I let the old domain to expire without renewing it? What will happen to the links I already own?? Please write a nice solution for this, I don't want to lose rank at all as I have gathered over 146 links so far this month!
Rewards for the nice solution: (1 Thumbs up and 1 Thanks!)

This is actually easy to do.

Once you have your website moved to the new domain, simply add 301 redirects to your old site.

As long as all pages (home and inner pages) have 301 redirects to the correct location on the new domain, you should not have any negative effects on your SEO or user experience.

Sorry for my typo above.

If you use proper 301 redirects, you will NOT have any negative effects.

Visitors follows linke to olddomain.com
Redirect takes them to newdomain.com

Search ending spider visits olddomain.com
Redirect takes then to newdomain.com
301 redirects lets them know this is the new location so indexes are updated.

Oh well, thanks for the great post. I'll use the 301 Redirect once I switched to the new domain. Thanks again RDO Servers!
