Lately I have been seeing more users posting bad pins on Pinterest, mostly they are forum owners who keep posting pins with the forum logo. I don't think someone will follow a such board with just boring logo pins? In my personal opinion, I think a good pin is a pretty picture that relate to niches such as fashion, beauty, bridal, jewelry, gardening or others, especially it could be explained via images.
From your experience, what will make a good Pin on Pinterest?

I agree with you Wizna. if you have better picture which can describe easily your product or service and you are pin that into proper board then it make a sense for good pin. So if anyone try pinterest for business then ry to make such images for products and services so that you can easily understand how pinterest helps.

Well, what attracts me the most in pinterest for me to pin it would be something that's eye catching whether it be food, clothes, shoes, even witty advertisements could make me click it and pin it :)

Great Pins are helpful when to make your Pins more informative, try adding advice, instructions or how-tos. You should write detailed descriptions to give people a clear idea of what the Pin is about, and play around with using some simple text on top of the image to quickly describe the Pin,

Great Pins are beautiful when Use high-res, well-lit photographs and images, and take some time to think about the setting.

Great Pins are tasteful when you're adding text and logos.

In my opinion a pin has to meet different requirements.

Firstly the photo has to be an eyetracker. For example: take a shoe photographed in an attractive area versus a shoe with just a white background. I think most people will look at the first photo.

Secondly I think 'how to's' and enumerations will work very good when you place them in the pin picture. Just tell people 'How to earn more money in five steps', place a link to your website and they will click, like and share. (anyway, I will as the blog is valuable to me ;) ).

Pin buttons could be valuable when you place them on your site or blog. So that people can share and post your blogs/articles/products.

Finally I think sometimes you need a little luck.

I do agree with you, basically Pinterest is like Instagram wherein you need to post wonderful shots in order to be seen by a lot of people and for you to be appreciated. My concern with pinterest is the fact there are a lot of wonderful post yet they don't show because of the numbers of people who advertise their product. A good pin is something that people want to see, not just an advertisement if that's the case then we can go ahead and create a fan page on other social medium like facebook and twitter.

You've said it! ..

A good pin, would be a good image. An image people would really want to see and maybe share. You can create your own and it would actually help to create your own images ;)

There are many good niches that can get good traffic from Pinterest :)

You just have to do it right!
