What Makes An Article Great?

Intriguing question. What really makes an article great? I'm asking that question myself now. I haven't seriously thought of it in the past. I've been actively using Facebook in sharing information, sharing my thoughts, writing my personal comments in "Tag-lish" (Tagalog-English) about something that interests me, and debating sometimes about a particular topic/subject. I have read a lot of articles from bloggers especially about politics of today here in the philippines. But writing an article myself is something I have not tried yet. I love the idea of having written an article myself. But what really makes an article great? An interesting question, indeed. It forces me to try to write something that can make a powerful impact to my reader. But how? Thanks for the insights I am learning here. I still have a lot to learn about article writing or content writing.

"Great" is a subjective term. The more important question is how your article can appeal as "great" to the most number of readers. Basically, an article should contain new information, easy to understand, and most importantly, it should be interesting to your intended audience. You should integrate images or visuals to grab the readers attention, but not too much that it distracts the reading. I think this is a very broad topic, and finding out what your intended audience wants is the best way to know what you need to write that they will also like.

Basically making article great means your target audience has the capacity to understand your topic and the motives you imply. Simply because sometimes everybody doesn't read all words especially if it was to long and paraphrased. Make the article SHORT BUT MEATY!!
