Advantages and disadvantages of using Twitter for marketing?

Recent years Twitter is the great Social Network on the web because you can be connected to everyone without boundaries without worrying about ethics issues like you don't exactly need to be friends with them offline just to follow them. That being said, it is easier to connect for business or marketing products on twitter than on Facebook
Would you agree with me on this, what are the advantages and disadvantages of using twitter for marketing?

Pros
Twitter is massive.
Every tweet goes to your followers.
Tweets are easy to create.
You can get to the point.

Cons
Twitter is busy.
Twitter is not ideal for visual content.
You are limited to 140 characters.
Not everyone can advertise.

I haven't got much success using Twitter advertising. Twitter requires more involvement with regular updates to keep people active on my links. Previously there were post scheduling options where we did schedule recurring tweets for the whole month. But they were banned by Twitter for spam and manual promotions take more time and energy to waste for a few traffic. I would prefer using other link building techniques to generate traffic faster.

I think Twitter is the very powerful social media if you're working as an expert in some industry, you can tweet, retweet and mention others in the business and gain more presence. It gives more personal feeling than FB page i think.
