The advantage is that you are using it for free, and disadvantage is that you are limited.

The biggest disadvantages of having free web hosting that they can any time shut their service and you can lost all your precious content and website work. They have limited resources and your websites will be slow. Search engines don't like such web-hosts to give you rank.

Free web hosting commonly has limitations and the service is too limited. You need to invest so that you can have a wider view and greater package. But it is money wise to use free web hosting. If you need to be economical you should use free web hosting.

The advantage is, it doesn't cost you any. You can place advertisements on your site and earn extra income.

The disadvantage is that there is no guide or tutorial for the installation. Because you are using it for free, there is no customer service that can assist you with.

The biggest advantage of using free web hosting is you don't need to pay a single cent. You can have free space on the server, free sub-domain name for accessing website and global reach over the World Wide Web. The disadvantage on it is free web hosting may lack a lot of features. The operative word is also limited. There is no customer support if you get technically stuck on installation or there is a need for tutorial or guidance. They only offer the sub domain upon their own domain name like mywebsite.wordpress.com or mywebsite.blogspot.com.

The free web hosting, as described by its name, is the web hosting services which are offered free of cost to all. The only advantage of such hosting service is their cost effectiveness. I think that the free website hosting comes with the tradeoff that they make a lot of advertisements. I personally think this does make things look a little unprofessional. For a personal website or blog this might be ok, but for professional companies hosting shall not be free. As mention above already also things like support, help and adtional requirments might not be supported. Also keep in mind, all terms and conditions state that you are actual giving away and share the data you are putting online. Content can be reused anytime.

Those are the only advantages of free web hosting services.The disadvantages are much more:

2.On rare occasions,these free hosting providers may be acting as middlemen.They may not even have their own space and are renting from a data centre provider.This means that the customer will not be dealing with the actual service provider hence it will be inconvenient in case of any questions he/she may have.
3.Free web hosting service providers post their ads on your website,many many ads.Some will not even let you post your own ads.Since their service is free,you don't get promote your business the way you want and as a result of this,you may get a very low traffic of customers to your site.

4.Since the service they offer is free,web hosting service providers are not reliable in any aspect.There is no customer service and customers will face a lot of problems at the site.The provider is not bound by a certified obligation to handle the use's needs.

5.Servers are almost always overcrowded because most people prefer not to spend any money on web hosting service.Performing any work on the website becomes impossible and customers eventually have to opt for other web hosting providers where they will have to pay.They end up regretting their choices.

6.Many or should I say all free web hosting service providers do not provide email or advanced software features.If you do not need to use these features,then perhaps free web hosting is the way for you.

Considering the fact that you can find decent web hosting services for less than $5-10 per month, it's ungrounded to choose free hosting and face all the problems that come with it. I really don't like free web hosting service, because once you use free website hosting account, your website will be full of advert. Though free web hosting service can help you if you don't have enough cash to buy an hosting plan.

Advantage for me is: Obviously you don't need to pay to use their service. Though it is free it is serving its purpose for me so far. My only problem is web design is so limited to only a few layout so you really have to choose which one is best then get used to it, unless you pay then you developed your page.

Advantages of FREE web hosting: It is well, free of charge and does not require any per month/yearly subscription.

Disadvantage: 1.You do not have the main domain. Free web hosting only offers subdomain. Take, for example, you can only have your website through blogs like yourwebsite.blogspot.com. If you want your own domain name like yourwebsite.net/.org , you will have to get the paid services.

2. The most important I think free web hosting does not give is the customer support. If you need technical guidance or to assist you in case you are new, it will be very tough on you to handle it by yourself.

3. Limited Bandwidth/Speed. If you limit exceeds, your site will be halted by the server and you, in the end, you will have no choice but to buy a web hosting plan.

Free hosting as only one advantage that is: it's free and there is no cost of it. But it has thousands of disadvantages like slow, insecure, limited resource, no or bad support, DB stealing and so on. Finally, free hosting is not for professionals.

If you will go with the free web hosting service then there will be no data security for your data. Data can be hacked anytime.There will be no control in your hand. There might be no backup facility so you can not take e backup too.

No guarantee of server, there will be no proper support so if you would like to learn the hosting panel and it's just for the testing then go with it, else for your important website it is not recommended.
