SSL is important to encyrpt the communication from visitors browsers and network to your website or webserver. SSL is must and good to implement, if you deal with sensitive data and process online payments. It does offers some benefits when it comes to SEO aspect. We recommend using SSL for every website. If you deal with Credit cards, online payments then adding security headers will make it much better.

Try to implement it, if you want to protect your customer sessions.

Why you don't consider using it for your blogs, even if visitors browse your blog then they also need to trust your blog is secure there.

sorry for laughing but a SSL Certificate doesnt get you more traffic or visitors...
it is good for sites that are storing user information. altough it helps a visitor to trust a little bit on your site

Poodle SSL Security Threat Explored

Poodle is a breed of dog with legs that resembles cotton candies. It is intelligent and a regular staple at dog shows. Even the most friendly dogs have the propensity to bite. Now we see all kinds of security alerts and snafus likes heartbleed and shell shock!!! The latest in addition is POODLE.

All of this started when a team in google developed and tested an attack named POODLE (Padding Oracle On Downgraded Legacy Encryption) which uncovered vulnerability in Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) version 3 protocol or in short SSLv3.

SSLv3 is an obsolete but still used encryption in both older and new web browsers. (It is an 18-year-old protocol which was replaced by the TLS protocol)

POODLE tries to force the connection between your web browser and the server to downgrade to SSLv3. The POODLE attack takes advantage of the protocol version negotiation feature built into SSL/TLS to force the use of SSL 3.0 and then uses this new vulnerability to decrypt select content within the SSL session. The decryption is done byte by byte and will generate large number of connections between the client and server.

SSL makes sure that when you send data over the internet, it does not come as myusername and mypassword, it comes as *&WQ^E*^SAD and AS*&D^*WAE^ which will be deencrypted on the other end.

This is very important for sites with valueble information.

According to the new Google algorithm. SSL is a must already Google has set the time frame. If you don't have SSL Google Will not Recognise and claw your site... But you have time. I recommend SSL it gives trust to the visitors and help your SEO score.

I had only a little knowledge about the having an SSL certificate for a website. I know it is used for encryption services to secure the data such as passwords, credit card and banking details through the internet. But would a client know what SSL is? would he actually feel secured? Also which one is it? does it generate more traffic? if so, how? does it make the site more accentuate? I think a client would feel secured just be being adequate. Maybe the variety on the site. SSL needs more interpretation in my opinion.

There is literally no downside to having SSL and it's free with Let's Encrypt so there really is no reason not to have it.
Aside from the advantages well described above the only difference is that your visitors connect to your website via a different Port.
