This post is really relevant and helpful whenever you are thinking of a title for your brand whenever you are about to start a new venture. Since, most of us nowadays really pays attention to the most bizarre brand names that we will encounter in a daily basis. And if it was able to touch you emotionally, with just a click away we'll be able to see the brand's content and might be able to promote it because of its name and sometimes catchy domain which should not be somehow misleading to us, as consumers.

We are all aware that domain names provide a permanent location for people to find your business online. No matter how your business changes over the years, your domain name can always be the same. Now, I would simplicity makes it more impacting and easier for numbers of people. Although simple, it must be unique and easy to remember.
Most of the people use a single word domain. We can always try combining two word to make it more impacting to your target audience.
We need to remember as well that we need to avoid something too similar to competing domain names and see to it that we are not violating others trademark.

Very helpful tip.
I am in the process of starting my own blog and is finding it hard to choose the right name. My niche is children and their development and I think I probably chose the most difficult niche but its what I'm passionate about.
Anyway the point you made about uppercase and lowercase, I didn't know that, the others I'm aware of. Thank you for posting this, it will help someone as it has helped me.

I have one additional tip in choosing a brand name. I would say avoid cliche. For example, at one point I was considering to use "CHILDREN, OUR FUTURE" as my domain name. Haha, when I googled it, there were 100s of things using that name. Being creative nd avoiding cliches are key points to create a good domain name.

In order to sell out your products, you must have a good brand name for your products. Here are my tips in order to get a good brand name. First is you need a name that best describe your products or you can also make a Synthesised names/made up-words. Synthesised names/made up-words are easy to own but do not have the depth of meaning of metaphorical names. Second is the availability of the word or name that you come up with. Third is the pronounceable in one way or should be easy to pronounce and spell. Last is the extensibility of your brand name or how long will it fair if the business will move into new markets like Apple move can move to a Watch market without some barriers. Those are some tips in order to make a perfect brand name.

Very good tips. Finding the right name for any brand can be very tedious and time consuming. It is also good to get ideas from others with whom you associate. Just allow them to toss some ideas around. Not necessarily stealing other's idea, but you can even come up with a name as ask trusted friends how it sounds to them.

Matching the domain name and brand name sounds good, but it might be difficult to have the same name as your website domain as well as business or brand name. If you find the brand make of your choice is available for registration in the local office, it might be taken in the world wide web The name available for domain registration may on the other hand might not be available for registration with local administration.
When I was registering my business, I had to choose a long name for couple of reasons because I wanted the name to reflect the business model, however, I cannot use that name as domain name because of lenght. I have to choose a different name.

Great post you have there.

I would agree that choosing a brand name needs to be catchy, as well as relatable to the brand you are selling. It really needs a sit-up discussion in order for you to come up with the right brand name.

You can have your brand as an acronym such as JBL, TNT, or BMW? You can also replace the letter of the brand you're thinking based on the product you will advertise to make it a wrong spelling which is visually attractive to viewers. Examples of these are Froot Loops, Krispy Kreme, or Tumblr. It looks misspelled, but it hit the market.

It is also important if you could have the same name of your brand in your social media accounts so your followers will not have a hard time looking for you.

If you are still tied up to the 2 or 3 brand names in mind, you can conduct a survey to your social media accounts to know which one looks appealing to the crowd.

Those are some of my tips on how to pick the perfect brand name.

Domain name is as much important as the site itself because with a lousy and boring domain means people would be less attracted to visit your website. That's the reason why domain name should only be short, precise and it should represent what the website is offering in order for visitors to easily get to it.

Nowadays Marketing is a great challenge for entrepreneurs. A great name can create unique impact and buzz, position you as a true leader and innovator, and reinforce your value proposition in a word or two.
That's powerful. It can convey a culture or a position, and differentiate a company, product or service from the rest of the market. So, make a simple but meaningful name for your brand.

Your Thread is very informative! You don't know how much information overload I was when i was reading this. For newbies, in this kind of field, it makes me more interested with what I just only know. Forums like this / threads and topics like this makes me explore new things and learn something new towards this kind of jargon. I might setup or create a website in the near future, oh well I am actually leaning towards making my own website too, its really fun and i want to express myself in so many different ways!

hi,

Choose a brand name that encourages your target audience to feel and think in new ways. Ask their opinion for new areas of opportunity to explore. Think outside of the box by exploring new languages, invented words, and slang.

Google started favoring non .com TLDs. Which means theoretically it's a better investment now to use something other than .com. That being said the psychological effect of .com is still strong. People still tend to remember and equate .com with any website.
The best option is if you don't use a .com TLD, but that domain anyway and redirect traffic to your main website.
Also, it's not worth using keywords in the domain itself anymore. Simply use your brand.

I can agree with many of you in here. First, name the Brand considering URLs available to us. Picking the brand you want it to stand out from all the rest! Second, your Domain and brand should match to support or describe each other. Do not choose your Domain name based on URLS. DO not be to difficult making spelling incorrect. Add on Extensions. Make sure you are not messing with copy right.

You should consider if what is the trend nowadays. You should pick a name that is easy to remember and at the same time will catch the interest of the customers.

It should be short, easy to spell and
has connection to your products or
services. Another important thing
to consider is name recall better do
research on that since you don't want
your clients forgetting the name of
your site, right? A good example
is 'Yahoo' and 'Google' how can you
forget those.
