I remember back in 2006 and later years, forums were the "swag" of the internet.

Being a staff of a reputed forum was like a dream. The respect, the authority, the power, the community, etc made me feel happy.

But now, idk, but that thing is lost. Forums are no more what they used to be in 2006-2013.

Yes Facebook and other social networks are one of reasons killed forums but the main reason is by forum owners, they killed the forums but didn't realize that.
Forums has its advantages but everyone didn't see or didn't take its advantages to make it stronger. I will not dig deep into this. :)
Growing a forum, an eCommerce website, a blog or a niche site...etc..has a bit more different and you should do according to its type.

I personally don't feel facebook could kill forum ever. Forums are better place to find good content and discuss a specific niche. Yes, you share forum content on facebook to get more traffic towards a forum. Ultimately people use google to search a solution.
Forums most of the time have a been found with the required solutions.

I don't think facebook would kill forums, if that were the case it would have happened already. I prefer to use forums, because I can look for what I want and navigate through Concrete information that I'm interested in.

I don't think so that Facebook is going to kill Forums. Facebook is totally a different thing from forums, I use Facebook just to stay in touch with my family and friends. Forums are something where you learn and share your opinions and ideas. Forums are superior to Facebook in terms of sharing and learning. You can't compare these two irrelevant things together. I do love Facebook because it connects with people I love and I love forums too because I get new knowledge every time I surf on internet. So both are different but very useful for people like us.

Facebook does not affect forums in any way. On Facebook, you add friends, chat up, join groups and all. On forums, you create threads, share useful information and connect with people world wide.

Now, the major difference is this. The threads created on a forum like Forum Web will remain on the forum and in the category it was created. If someone has a problem related to the thread topic, he or she can always go to the thread that might have been created years back and still get a solution from the thread post or replies.

On Facebook, you cannot search for topics. You can only search for people, so getting help or advice on Facebook is almost impossible except you know the right people.

All you need to do on a forum is to create a thread and people will come to your aid.

Facebook is here since a long time and forums are comparatively a recent phenomena. Forums have never posed a risk to facebook becaus it has a strong userbase. On the otherhand, forums can hardly enjoy the member base and the discussion that goes on facebook.
Forums evolved as a discussion board that could be a source of income for the owner as well as the poster (because the owner can monetize the forum and the users may be compensated in some form of rewards). However, facebook is just an online platform where owners take all the money.

Facebook was created with the idea of connecting people everywhere and where ever they may be, forums on the other hand are platforms were specific issue of interest are discussed online, one may decide to share or repose forum contents on Facebook to gain more comments and opinion from people abut Facebook cannot kill forums, it can only be used as a traffic generating tool for those forum platform or as in information tool.

No, facebook won't kill forums because each serves a different niche entirely. Take for example this forum, you won't get the type of intellectual discussion on topics as such on facebook. The likes of quora all came after facebook and they doing well, nowadays people use facebook to connect with family and friends.

Facebook has its fun, pleasures, advantages, and uses, but I do not think that it will ultimately ever replace the forum. Forums are a great place to keep the content and discussion specific. They are a much more useful, in my experience, learning tool than facebook is.

Of course not, forums share real information but Facebook shares a lot of fake news and information. When it comes to a genuine user, I think the forum is the better. You gain here more knowledge and useful info and facebook is just like showing pictures and sharing hashtags.

Facebook mainly used for fun whereas Forums are mainly used for helping hand in issue fixes, asking doubts. In facebook, even if you use fb groups the members will be limited and replies also will be limited. But a good forum will have reputed member from round the globe and will have variety of response and opinions

Facebook will not never kill the forums, where we can gain knowledge from the people all over the world. When we have started a discussion on new thread, we can gather different ideas from different people. However Facebook is a type of social media where friends can share their experience, memories, knowledge, happiness, joy and worry etc.
Major difference of these two is the society, when Facebook has friends Forums have members who have special interest and knowledge on specific subject areas.
We never can fulfill the requirement of a Forum by going through the Facebook. Finally, Facebook and Forums are totally different aspects of global society.

Facebook and formus are two completely different things, in my opinion, formus are more "useful" than facebook, in facebook you can chat with friends, make some jokes, have a nice time, join groups ect...But in forums you can learn a looot of new things about games/windows/life/jobs ect...So facebook can not kill forums.
