The principles are a bit similar when setting up display campaigns; to set up other types of advertising campaigns, you will need to study the methods and principles of setting them up.

I think Google can't provide you with such functional as FB.
As for me Facebook has the best targeting opportunities and other platforms simply do not have them.

And google ad is much more effective than FB.

They are quite different but both have their positives and negatives.

The great thing about both of them is that you can setup retargeting ads.

I wanna give my few cents here, and let me know if you agree with what I am about to share with you. These are just some of the things that I learned. First of all, when comparing the two, there is no “better” because they do things completely differently. Instead, the more important questions you should be debating are: ‘Which is a better fit for my budget?’, ‘Which one is a better fit for the product landscape I’m in?’, or ‘What stages of the buyer journey am I targeting?’. Do you get what I am trying to point out?

According to my experience, there is no need to compare Facebook and Google advertisements because they operate in very different ways. The essential question is what you need, such as your budget, product, location, and so on. As a result, the industry in which you worked and the competition in which you compete play a significant influence in deciding which advertising platform to use.

Don't waste your money with Facebook ads, it tried but it is not effective for my business.

Compared with Facebook Ads, Google Ads can get started faster and has a wider potential coverage, but Facebook Ads can provide more detailed positioning through its pixels, and may have more powerful tracking insights than Google Ads.

Use both. Google is a "top of the funnel" type of add, then social, including facebook for mid level and conversion funnel.

It is not actually the same, Google Ads make use of keywords where as Facebook Ads make use of target audience.
you can always follow this.
1) List down all the keywords associated with your brand
2 Use tools like SEMRush/Ahrefs/uber suggest to find out the search volume of those keywords.
3) If you find teh search volume of those keywords high enough, you can always start with Google Ads
4) Incase if your search volume is low, you cannot gain much out of Google Ads
5) In such case, If you have your targeting audience very clear, you can go ahead with Facebook Ads.
I follow kuware.com for Marketing related information. Hope this helps.

I didn't use both, they are pretty expensive and need more money to use for ads.
