Hello,

I am planning to purchase a dedicated server for creating virtual machines with KVM virtualization technology. Can any one suggest me a budget and best server specification (RAM, core, disk space, bandwidth, port speed, provider) for KVM virtualization?:whiteflag:

Its you who need to define your budget. We can suggest you a server with 256GB of RAM if you would like. So you first need to decide how many VM's you need to create on one KVM node and how much RAM you intend to allocate to individual VM? Because this will further help you decide how much amount of RAM you need on nod. Similar math applies for CPU cores and Disk space.

Then find a reliable hosting company that offers good servers and affordable pricing.

However, while doing the above calculation, I would suggest you to opt for a minimum of RAID1 configuration drives. RAID10 will always be reliable and superior though.

It will depend on your VPS sizes. You have to compare all dedicated servers and to check the ratio CPU/RAM/Storage.

Guys, I know it depends on number of cores, ram of the parent server , but honestly if i have a server with 64GB or ram and i need to create a 50 vps of 2gb of RAM, is that possible.

Any help and advise would be appreciate.

I might be wrong on this but I'm almost sure KVM does not support over allocation of resources. I only use it for dedicated resources so never tried sharing, might be possible to tweak it or an option somewhere. OpenVZ would be a good choice if you want to sell shared VPS.

Its depends on your budget and VPSs' size.

If you can give us an estimated number of VPS and each VPS config, we will be able to recommend you Dedicated server's requirements.
