Is 10 mbps considered as a fast internet?

Fast is a subjective word. I would personally consider 10 Mbps fast, because it is enough for my usual internet activities like VOIP (voice over internet), streaming and browsing. Judging by the original post of the thread starter, he is trying to evaluate his home internet needs. Based on my experience, working with an internet service provider, the number of users should also be considered. 10 Mbps might be enough for 1-3 persons but if you have 5-10 people sharing the connection, then you might have some issues. The usual activities should also be factored in. Five persons trying to stream 5 different HD movies will definitely make the speed sluggish.

Well right now I we are using 5 mbps in our house. Currently I am the only one active using laptop and my other family members are using cellphones. So far I never experience slow connection specially in streaming or even downloading files. What more if you have 10mbps.But I think sometimes it depends on your location if what would be the speed bandwidth of your internet.

10 Mbps is not bad for me, though it really depends with the country you are in. I think you are lucky enough because in my country with almost 50 million internet users the fastest speed that we have is 2 Mbps, I don't know why, maybe because improving the internet service is not yet the priority of our corrupt government.

For me, It really depends on what will be the application. You tube streaming is not bad for 10 mbps in 720p category, in 1080p, there should be not much buffering also considering you are the only person using the internet connection and considered this fast internet for me. If the 10 mbps will be shared by 2 or more people, can be less on what you need to have in terms of speed. Another factor is if the user will be using cellular phone/tablet or desktop. Full desktop page will be requiring more data compared to surfing thru mobile.

If you're going to ask someone from my country, the answer would be definitely yes.
10mbps is already pretty good. Here in my country, internet connection is very slow ranging only from 1mbps to 3mbps.

It really depends on the country where you are situated, in my country which is considered as one of the countries that has a very frustrating internet connection can considered that 10 Mbps as already fast since most of our internet usage are very minimal compare to other countries. 10 Mbps internet connection can perform various task such as downloading games or videos and streaming in the web. But I think for most countries 10 Mbps is bit slower than their average internet speed. But for me it is already a great one since I can already perform multi tasking, I will just be wise in choosing on the right activity to perform with to maximize my internet speed.
