Hi guys,

I'm curious what would be the behavioral model of those who need to get a Dedicated server? Do you guys decide based on the price or you also check the provider's network and ask questions about its data center, Internet connectivity, etc.?

I have never checked provider's network , data center, Internet connectivity when asking to buy a dedicated server. I only care how many RAM, CPUs, type of disk (SSD or HDD) that I will have.

In contrast to @David Beroff, I was always concerned most with the network performance and reliability first and foremost. Once comfortable with a host's network credentials and reputation, then we would consider the physical attributes of the server.

For us, we were using these servers to host our clients' hosting accounts and VM's, which is why the network reliability was a priority in our decision. There are plenty of use-cases for both arguements, however. @David Beroff What are you using dedicated servers for, if you wouldn't mind sharing?

@HostColor, great question. Thanks for the thought-provoking and discussion-provoking topic.

I like to do this but how to check provider's network is good or not? Do they really provide real information for us?

So here listed some major factors you should consider before choosing any web hosting
- location: it is an important thing to consider which location you select.
- speed and connectivity: most web hosting companies are allowing 3 days trial, where you can experience your business with such quality features.
- traffic range: you should consider that your plan should have high traffic range services because it will be kept secure you from server crashes.
- uptime: you can see all web hosting companies ensure 100% uptime guarantee, that is a major thing.

It should be the top deciding factor when purchasing Data Center services. Some data centers don't have good connections others do. It is the client responsibility to check potential data center network for reliability and security.

If you're looking for Deal on Storage or RAM/CPU then most never check network. Plex and streaming users about 40% from our LookingGlass statistics check Network before purchase before they are converted to sales. But we always advertise a Looking Glass with all our advertisements and mention our upstream for transparency.
But I would say it is very specific use case based checking.

It is always a good practice to do research on the network infrastructure of a dedicated server provider before making a purchase. This includes checking the reliability and speed of their network, as well as their ability to handle high traffic loads and prevent downtime. Some factors to consider when evaluating a provider's network include their data center location, network connectivity, network redundancy, and security measures. It's also a good idea to read reviews from other customers to get an idea of their experiences with the provider's network performance. By doing your due diligence before making a purchase, you can ensure that you are choosing a dedicated server provider that can meet your needs and provide a reliable hosting environment for your applications and websites.
