I heard about litespeed but never used it on my hosting servers. I suppose that it is not necessary to have LiteSpeed unless you can point out its best features that others didn't have.

The best features of Litseped is its caching, asynchronous in nature and considerably little lower PHP SAPI footprint compared to Apache. But there is no special advantage for this in case you have a low to moderate level of traffic and more dynamic pages [ so there is nothing or very little to cache ] . So the usage will be based on your usage level. Maybe users can exploit their UI for easy configuration if that is an interesting point for some people :)

Adding to it that after a 15 day trial, it would cost you $10/month. That's about the same price as what I can pay for a hosting service.
If you have a professional site with lots of visitors, than I might rethink it, but I'd rather improve my site and buy a better hosting service with the price I would then pay.
