Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I had this question in my mind for a while. I was wondering how can one create a cloud server? If someone can answer please do, thanks in advance.

Do you want to create a Cloud based infrastructure to provide Cloud hosting instances or to have a Cloud server like user?

To have a Cloud infrastructure one needs underlying physical infrastructure in which the processing servers (CPU, RAM, etc) are separate from the storage are network where the data is hosted. There are various virtualization technologies to be used to turn the physical computing infrastructure into a cloud.

It depends on what you mean by "cloud server". If you want to create virtual machines and networks on demand via a browser then you can use Azure. If you feel difficulty in creating a cloud server you can try out cloud hosting from a reliable hosting provider.

If you are talking about cheap way to create cloud then you are in wrong direction. Cloud is not cheap thing, it cost a lot. Even OnApp license will cost you more than 2 servers, if you use them. Apart from price, creating cloud is a science and it need expertise. In short, you'll need the following:

- API based access, so that your customers can create/update/delete cloud servers on demand
- hourly billing
- cloud features
- ability for users to create/update their own images
- ability to create private networks, connect to public network
- extra services
- volumes
- firewall
etc

To be honest cloud is loosely thrown around with a lot of providers, especially new companies, but that problem really just stems from it being a vague term in itself with the many variations of what constitutes a cloud. A "cloud" is really just a pool of computing resources, so it is wrong if companies are representing a dedicated VPS on an individual piece of hardware as being cloud service, but I think this is rarely the case; VPS just gives your shared of computing pool. "True Cloud" is something that can scale and is ultra redundant.

True but the real cloud platform has more infrastructure setup for this. As load-balancing, redundancy, sync etc to store the content to multiple location. But for a budget hosting provider, its not feasible. There is however really only a couple ways to do this.

You could use DRBD to replicate one server to a backup. If the primary fails you can use heartbeat to change / add ip(s) to the secondary server. Once the primary server comes back up it turns into the secondary server. This is just a 1+N setup. You'd only ever have 1 server responding to requests but you can replicate to as many backup servers as you'd like.

You could use a HA file system and run on your own private (or even public) cloud. There are some 'cloud' services which truly are 'cloud' services (not just vps on one machine with local data store). When the physical server fails the node will be restarted automatically on another node.

There will be some downtime with both of the above methods, but only seconds.

The third method would be to make the application you're hosting redundant. You'd run multiple webservers, database servers, etc so if any one server goes offline it has no impact into your site availability. The load balancer is still a single point of failure in this scenario though. With the load balancer you can make it more redundant, but there is still some downtime when heartbeat or pacemaker swaps the LB from one node to another. (Again, just downtime in seconds).

You can do any of these 3 methods for relatively cheap (couple $100/mo). You can also mix and match. You could use cloud nodes and make your application highly available / redundant. The minimum number of nodes required for a fully redundant application is 3. You'd need 3 galera nodes, 3 apache nodes, and 3 pacemaker nodes. You can install galera, apache and pacemaker on the same node. You might have some quorum problems out of pacemaker and galera with this configuration though. You could host this on amazon, google, azure, etc for $100-$200/mo.

Just look at the requirements of something like:

OnApp and OpenStack

Then think scale and business model, because competing in today's world is probably a lot harder than before when it comes to cloud.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Cloud is the new form of technology to host data and websites. If you want to create virtual machines and networks to host your website then you can use cloud server hosting from any hosting provider.

On Dashboard you will find the Cloud Control panel Select Server and then > Cloud Server it will take you directly to the Create Server page > Click Create Server. And fill the Details in the Server Details section.

I know that data science is all about deriving insights from data. These insights are then used to provide value to a business, such as implementing strategies to boost profits or reduce consumption, optimize a marketing plan, or provide better recommendations to users. I used to be work with SDS club. They bring me many good solutions in this area.

Deploying a storage cloud on laptop is not an easy task and as well as it is not advisable. I have done so many experiments of deployment on my laptop. This includes deploying servers and virtualization platform and forming firewalls and routers etc. So from my experience I came to know that if you want to deploy these kind of things you have to have good hardware as well as a good cooling system for your laptop.

Coming to the deployment part. You can install cent OS on your laptop and then you have create shared storage server on that. For that you will need file sharing server on back end and on front end you need a UI. You need to code the UI and you have to create it in such a way that it will convert the queries into the Linux commands.

This is the brief intro I have given to you. You can google in detail, but I would suggest that if you don’t want to destroy your laptop then Don’t do that.

The Modest way to describe Cloud Hosting is the hosting service which functions in a way that the servers are grouped organized, where you have no boundary for the resources. In this service the cluster of servers are linked together to advance the performance and dependability.

There is no longer a physical server to accomplish your network subsequently it is achieved in a virtual environment. Advantages of a cloud hosting service are numerous. It is an easy to use and it is a simple service. As compared to a dedicated server the options offered by a cloud server are many. On each of the counts really they associate in a favorable manner. As per the requirements, fully modified solutions in networking are accessible.

A cloud host user appreciates remote availability, which suggests that one's professional is not restricted to a definite location. One can effortlessly access the servers from any location. As long as one has access to an Internet connection, one is upright to go. Data can be recovered from home, workplace, streets and even through a mobile phone.

The cloud computing is price effective solution for your commercial, because here web servers operated proficiently, which means it reducing your server operation time. With the whole cloud computing base, it is now likely to increase your hosting experience with increased quality of service and all together saving extra money on investments in man power and training. With this facility you can concentrate on your core business.

Before talk over in what way to ready a network to create it organized for the cloud, it would be obliging to go over the cloud service and setting out models. The service models feature the kind of service the cloud is proposing and the setting out model refer to how the cloud will be deployed.

These are the cloud service models

Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)

Platform as a service (PaaS)

Software as a service (SaaS)

The essentials of what requirements to be done with and to data have not changed. Data still needs to travel between the computing and storage modules of an application and then to the operator of the application. Safety still needs to be applied to make sure that access is fixed to those who need it and that those who shouldn't have it are kept out. Network superiority of service (Qos) needs to be sustained as well.

Network architecture needs to be flexible. Network services need to be location liberated, meaning that they are provided wherever data, applications, and users are and whenever the services are required. Finally, network resources need to be abstracted so that provisioning can be automated and actions orchestrated through common interfaces.

Construct a cloud server.
1. Go to the Cloud Control Panel and log in.
2. Select a Product > Rackspace Cloud from the top navigation bar.
3. Choose Servers > Cloud Servers from the drop-down menu.
4. Select Create Server from the menu.
5. In the Server Details section, in the Server Name field, give your server a name.

If this is your first time doing a cloud server start off small. Once mastered you can work yourself up to a actual device/cloud server.
