Hi everyone, I've installed a firewall software on my vps server and I want to add a rule to allow a certain TCP port, but i am a bit more confused selecting the local port and the remote port. Can you explain what is the difference between local and remote port for a firewall rule?

What is the firewall software you have installed to protect your system? Is is better to take advise once people know what is you are trying to configure. As it is firewall settimgs, it is highly sensitive changes as a wrong move can kick you out of the server and prevent further access.
