It's helpful if I remove post date on my blog posts?
I want to make it not look outdated with readers or search engines. Does Google care post date of a blog post?

Pls share your thoughts!

My preference is to:

1) Remove dates on posts together with removing post date tag widget i.e. usually displayed on sidebar - when the content/niche is evergreen.

2) Use a recently amended date on posts on content which can change or is likely to change in the future.

For the most part I am moving away from using dates...

People it seems are hard wired to ignore posts when they see a date which is somewhat in the distant past... For example would you read a post dated 2006 versus one recently written in 2015? If the subject is evergreen i.e. on a niche subject where the contents dont really change then I don't see the value with providing that....

In addition I also think its a good idea to remove the ability to search posts on dates i.e. side bar widget with posts organized under year/month... This just adds additional unnecessary links which dillutes link juice to pages which you really want to promote... Most people will search for posts based on category and not date...
