Where to hire good freelancers?

Where can you guys hire good freelancers for full time and part time jobs or for simple tasks?

How to know they are good freelancers that suit for your tasks? do you usually have a check on their works? what is our experience on this?

I hired from Elance. Now i hire from Freelancer & related forum. Upwork is a very painful marketplace.

I prefer using Upwork (previously Odesk) to get freelancers for my job. I can read reviews and known more about the freelancer from their profiles before I hire them from this website. The payments are also through the website which makes it much safer for my transactions.

Don't discount those who freelance without signing up with an agency. Depending on what kind of help you need you should try a Google search for your help. Many professional VA's, writers, and SEO specialist have their own websites, etc. However if you don't want to do any or much research I would try the agencies listed above. There are some good freelancers there as well.

I mostly search on Freelancer and Upwork. You need to filter a lot.

LinkedIn can help you to find freelancers, check their profile and projects over there and contact or take a telephonic interview of the candidate. You can also hire a HR- consultancy that can help you to find the right candidate for you.
