Hey guys,

I'm a bit lost.. Have talked to godaddy on the phone to check if I need to upgrade my hosting as I am getting emails from Jetpack anywhere from 2-8 times a day saying my site is down for anywhere between 3 minutes to an hour at a time. I am using wordpress and am also going through cloudflare cdn (free).

I am only on the basic plan with godaddy as I do not have a huge amount of traffic go through my site (anywhere from 10-50 people a day)

Godaddy can not tell me if it is with them or cloudflare. Before I fork out on upgrading my hosting plan I just want to be sure that it will solve the problem.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The final time I used Godaddy hosting is I could not connect Mysql database to their server for a Wordpress site. I contacted them and the problem was not solved and I moved to a new hosting. Honestly, Godaddy is just for domain names, I think they are not really a true web hosting company.

You should find the reason why your site was down by checking server logs. I am using Cloudflare on all websites and it does not affect to any sites, just making them rung faster.

I never had any problem with Godaddy, yet I don't regard them as one of the best choices. If you are at basic hosting with up to 100 visitor per day, a WordPress website should not go down or show any problem until it has some coding problem or permission issue.

Free cloud flair is also not good, if you want reliable hosting go for some managed WordPress hosting services.

No right now I am not using Godaddy because of lack of support, mostly they want us to upgrade when ever we have some problem. There VPS service is also limited, I am using Net Craft India for my web hosting needs. I am using them for low cost simple shared hosting, and using DigitalOcean for cloud.

DigitalOcean is a good choice if you don't have a good budget. Other than that, dedicated servers from OVH or Online.net will give better hosting plans for you.

What is Wordpress hosting? I think every hosting should work for Wordpress websites.

Noone of dedicated server/cpanel will give you better performance if you do not optimize your server and your webserver/mysql databases etc. Wordpress hosting is new in market place, the main reasion of so called wordpress hosting is because the servers/cpanel is optimized as much as it can to speed up your wordpress. you still need to optimize your website/images/css/javascript etc.

I didn't have problems with them, try to see what is the problem and also try to promote your site. Maybe you can raise your income with more SEO and try to promote it on social networks.
