Good list! It might be worth broadening a tutorial like this though, to include the disadvantages of shared hosting, as well as the advantages of other platforms.
I'd say an added bonus with Shared Hosting is the featureset. Many providers strive to be using cutting-edge technology to improve things like performance. There's also often a one-click installer for users who don't enjoy setting up scripts themselves, and so on and so forth.

Some pros & cons about shared hosting as below:

Pros
Most common use by wide variety requirement, from personal to small or medium businesses
Almost shared hosting plans are cheap but there are some specific plans with additional fee

Cons
Almost shared hosting plans come with free domain name
Always have technical support via ticket, email or forum
Easy to upgrade to higher plans when needed
Because they use a single server to share between many clients, so there are some security risks introduced
Because using sharing resources, so if your website have a huge traffic or using much CPU resources, you need to upgrade to the higher plans
If one site getting harmful for the server, others may be affected due to using shared single server.
You're maybe restricted in using some programming language and file type supported (it's based on each hosting provider)

I think you have your pro's and cons list backwards?

The only benefit I can see in shared hosting over a well managed VPS/Dedicated server is the cost factor.

@Alexport You have given some valuable information on the advantages of shared hosting and I feel the cons will be security and since sharing the same server if any one is affected chances are other sites might also get affected. But anyway I can see that it is cost effective. Thank you for sharing. :)

Shared hosting service is best for small websites with 10 to 15 page. Below are some of the advantages of shared hosting service -

1. Managed by hosting provider - Shared hosting is managed by the hosting provider itself. You just need to upload the data which you would like to display on internet. Also server security is handled by the hosting provider.

2. Low budget hosting service - Shared hosting is the low budget hosting service.

3. No extra maintenance - You don't need to worry about the extra activities for maintaining your control panel and server. As it's shared hosting server, it is maintained by the hosting provider.

There are some disadvantages of shared hosting service as below -

1. Limited access- As shared hosting server has accounts of multiple clients hosted on single server, there is no root access. You get the limited access in shared hosting service.

2. Limited resources - As name says, it's shared hosting so the all resources are shared by multiple clients so you need to make sure that you will host only small websites on shared hosting server.

3. Low performance - If one user will cause issue on server, it will affect the working of all sites on server which lowers the performance of your website.

Though there are disadvantages, shared hosting is always recommended for low budget, small websites and beginner.

Can anyone tell me more about the cost? also why would it make my website have low performance? I get it's shared but doesn't everyone get his "share" I mean the service can be very indelicate about low performance. Wouldn't that make the website obsolete if it got these many disadvantages? I think there should be consistency to make the shared hosting better.

Shared hosting plan are available for few dollars per month. But it's pretty hard to compare shared hosting performance, because it require to purchase some other plan and to copy your website on each of them to check the loading speed.
The main difference with VPS and dedicated servers is it doesn't require any knowledge about server management to host your website. It's not expensive, and for the most part of website, it's fast enough.

Oh, so they take care of the server management, when I read "low performance" above, I really thought it would make the website irrepressible, In my opinion server management knowledge is very vital if you own a site, making it your zeal then one can move from a shared hosting to a dedicated hosting

If you own a website, developement knowledge will be more useful than server management in my opinion, and then you can host your website on a shared hosting and it should load fast enough.
When a website is slow, in most of case it's not only due to the hosting solution, there are thousand of slow website hosted on vps or dedicated servers.

I have a shared hosting package . I pay just about $78 per year to host my 10 websites. Even though there are drawbacks of shared hosting, for examaple the limited diskspace, limited bandwith, slow speed, I am happy with my shared hosting because it is the best thing I can get for the amount I have paid.

With shared hosting account, you can host more than 5 website on your shared hosting account. For instance Namecheap offer one of the best free web hosting service. Though there other big names like Godaddy.

Your website doesn't require VPS hosting then you can use shared hosting account.

If you have less amount of pages and just starting to have a website then shared hosting is the best for you. You don't need to worry about managing your hosting since the provider will take care of it for you + less amount in terms of the price.

One thing which you have missed in the analysis is the scalability. When you are renting out a dedicated server, even if you're just utilizing 5% of the capacity, you would have to pay for the entire server. On the other hand, when you are opting for shared hosting, you can begin with the basic plan and if Midway through the month, you realize that you would exhaust your resources, you can easily scale it up. Most of the web hosting companies would allow you to pay on a pro-rata basis which would ensure that you are paying only for the remainder of the month.

Similarly, the web hosting companies would allow you to scale up the plan whenever you want according to the amount of traffic which your website is getting. This would help you in saving a significant amount of money in the longer term rather than just choosing the larger package in order to accommodate the future traffic.
