I haven't looked closely at the web hosting industry for quite a while. At one time, window shopping for hosting plans was a daily activity for me. Now, I am more focussed on producing content for my own sites.

However, I don't think too much have changed. Some technical specifications have changed for sure but basically as long as the internet is up and people are using the internet, there will be people looking for a place to call their home in cyberspace.

So, there will always be a demand for web hosting.

Nowadays, more people are attracted to shopping online, creating a blog etc so demand for web hosting would definitely increase.

More benefits? I'm not too sure on that, I think it's still the same.

Web server hosting industry is growing at a tremendous rate. All businesses are going online especially in developing countries. Naturally, there will be demand for better services. Start business are preferring shared hosting, vps hosting because it suits their budgets. Few of them are already getting a liking for cloud vps hosting. With this rate, quality services are getting more importance.

As every day new website is launching, the new web hosting service is getting signed-up. Everyone wants to make their identity on the internet which is fulfilled by the web hosting service. There are shared hosting services, reseller hosting services, VPS and dedicated server hosting services. You can sing-up as per your need and requirement. You will need to check the costing, reviews and support service provided by the web hosting provider.

It is the area which is very important and getting more importance day by day.

More hosting companies meaning more options for customers- that is the good thing. The bad thing about it is the kind of service they offered.

More and more hosting providers appear every year along with just as many that just down.

Their are only a small percentage of providers imo that have the skills and commitment to run a hosting business as their are so many "get rich quick" people out there that are in no way qualified to run a hosting business resulting in customers that have been let down.

I don't think so. Webhosting may have once been considered "easy money" but with a very saturated market today, with a large mix of low and high-quality hosts, it's very easy for someone to switch if they don't like your service. Running a hosting business today means fairly low profit margins, and you must know what you're doing.

It is not a get rich quick scheme, that's for sure. :)

I certainly agree with you.I feel that the current hosting market is super competitive and energetic! There are many web hosting companies that offer you standard web hosting packages and customized hosting solutions as well.Well, It became difficult to choose the right web hosting company.

Exactly. That is to entice potential customers to switch hosting because of the new technologies and securities they offered.

Very saturated indeed. So much competition if forcing people to lower their prices so customers will consider taking their service(s) unless your one of the top 10 with a Google advertisement they can charge a bit more as they are clicking their offers first (e.g godaddy, 1&1 etc.)

There are a lot of companies starting every day, however if you go back and look at some of the domains in question a few months later, you'll notice they gave up. There will always be room for the smaller guys, as long as the service and level of support is very good.

I think, Web hosting is still really viable since we live in a world dominated by Internet users. Web hosting might have some downs, but it will boom and grow day by day. Everything has their own time and their own trends, you'll just have to wait.

I think the current saturation of hosting providers is actually a good thing. Healthy competition creates value for customers. Also, generally speaking, support is better at smaller hosting providers anyways. I believe most people switch to smaller businesses once they realize they don't matter to the big guys.

I would add to my previous post that I feel the biggest difference in provider is support. As most technologies and platforms are fairly standardized there is not much innovation to be had there.
I mean what are you going to use besides Cpanel/WHM/WHMCS.
The way a provider can grow is providing excellent support, which is my opinion is lacking among the biggest providers.

Yeah I agree with you and I am seeing that number of websites online are increasing daily and it is reason why web hosting is a web hosting although it is very competitive but more profits for companies working in this field.

To be honest, web providers/ web hosts are always going to be appearing and disappearing. There isn't really an overabundance of them so much as a... balance of them per se. But I'd always go with smaller hosting sites because the big ones take forever to actually get to support requests and stuff. Working in my line of work, it's often that I have to send in a support ticket to change DNS records and I don't get a response for a week.

New companies are always emerging, what I see big companies like host gator are growing very fast, they are doubling their clients in couple of years. I remember 5 years back I used to think that web hosting industry is saturated and it has no future, looks like I was wrong. With fast internet, specially 4G and LTE had changed things, everything is done through internet and everyone want online websites.

So today my perspective is changed despite many new web hosting companies are emerging I will say web hosting industry is future.

As this is the digital era, the people around world are adapted to the internet. Online businesses are growing at a faster pace so launching website for every online business is inevitable. This has led to the use of web hosting services at a greater deal. Most used web hosting services are Shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated servers, business hosting and wordpress hosting.

This is good because it makes easy or too much competition is always good for customer point of view it makes a platform on which only good providers exists for longer.

Hey there,

in my opinion, we can all see the increasing activity online regarding personal matters and business and that increases demand in web hosting as well. There are currently many hosting providers, all of which offers variety of hosting services. However, the main difference between all the providers, like mentioned earlier, is the customer support. Customer support basically represents the provider by speaking to clients daily, providing them all the required information and making the right impression.

There is actually an Australian owned hosting provider that are keep on buying small hosting businesses from different countries. They started owning from Asia and it is very effective since they already have an established customers. The question now is if that hosting provider can apply the good customer service to those new small hosting providers.
