Is cloud hosting ideal for blogs or just regular websites?

What are the major differences between the regular hosting and cloud hosting? Am looking to start a website that's going to be the landing page for my blogs. I've heard so much about cloud hosting and want to try it out. Am looking for cold recommendations and tips on how to go about it.

Please feel free to help a brother out.

Cloud hosting is best for the sites that needs high performance and high traffic. There are options like autoscaling available on cloud hosting. i.e. when the traffic on your website is increasing, resources would be automatically added and it doesn't slow down your website. When the traffic subsides, resources would be scaled down. Where as in the case of regular hosting, you won't have these options. You will get a specific amount of resources and you have to add extra resource when you have more traffic. There are cases where you regular hosting server needs to be rebooted in the case of resource upgrade.

Since you are looking for blog hosting, I think regular hosting should be fine. Regular hosting is cheaper compared to cloud hosting.

I would suggest, as it's start of your hosting service, go with the shared hosting service. As it's small site, you don't need the Cloud Hosting service. Websites with the high traffic are run on the cloud hosting.

Blog can be hosted on the shared hosting server as there is no need of too much resources. Still you would like to run the web hosting service on cloud you can.

I agree with you, a cloud hosting service would be too big of a resource for blogs.Think of it as storing a needle in an entire room.It is advisable for you to use regular hosting for now. When your blogs start getting more traffic or for some reason you shift your website, maybe you can try cloud hosting.Best of luck!

Cloud hosting is best than other hosting, even you have blog, small website or large application, with cloud hosting You will never face any issue like loading, visitors load, bounce rate, I am using cloudways for my store hosting because it is managed hosting console where I perform all my tasks myself.

As what cybexhosting said, cloud hosting is best for sites that faces high traffics and high performance. Since you are just starting, i would recommend you to take up shared hosting. In the near future, when it is needed, you can change to cloud hosting.

Cloud hosting is used when you face high traffic and performance. It is usually used by large enterprises. As you are just starting a website, shared hosting is going to be enough for you. In any cases if you feel that you need more space, you can just upgrade to the next level that your provider can provide you. If not, then look for cloud hosting.

Cloud hosting is the best suitable if you are highly concerned about the uptime and can't bear even a single minute downtime.

Its a bit expensive then the shared hosting and requires an in-depth knowledge of a SysAdmin. Alternatively, you can go with the Managed cloud hosting solutions that will manage the server so that you can focus on the business. Again, a few bucks (management cost) is involved.

Cloud hosting is mainly used for busier websites that have more traffic although it can be used for both "normal" website and one which need more resources when needed.

Sounds like cloud hosting would be the best option for you. If your blog or website doesn't require a lot of security, go for the shared cloud hosting to save money.

@SireRumu The difference between Cloud Hosting and regular web hosting services is that a Cloud-based service is delivered from infrastructure that features redundancy of the processing resources (CPU, RAM) and storage service (which is delivered from Storage Area Networks). So, technically Cloud-based hosting services are more stable and offer much better performance.
