What do you think of advances in forums and blogs?

As the Internet has rapidly grown, social media sites like forums and blogs such as this one have increased in number and technological advances. What do you think of how blogs and forums have grown over the years? We know have features like live video chatting and can instantly copy a video or link from anywhere without having to always go to Google. I think it's very convenient and if you have a business, this convenience can make it easier for customer interaction. However, do you believe there are any bad sides? As we all know, people have always abused technology. It is not immune to human error. Can a forum or blog that is up to date with the latest technology end up in a huge downfall? What do you think? You also have to consider that not all your clients or viewers are tech-savvy.

honestly I dont know..it's hard question and I think a lot about it. Social network it's annoyng and hasn't forum structure..this is a bad think....

but forum for web use, like this forum is very helpfull

I don't know which side of the point of view you are saying that statement. Blogs and forums are beneficial for people to be more sociable in a particular area of discussion. You can use a blog as your content marketing, and a forum to gather the people in the same interest.

First I must say that this is a awesome topic! Second I don't think that just running a forum alone these days is enough to make it. You need more content than just a forum. On my website I am running Wordpress for the front end and Xenforo as the back end with a wordpress bridge.

And honestly I don't think it's going to take off no matter how hard I work on it. Most of the big forums on the internet have been around forever. And then you have forums buying other forums and merging content to make it look like they have a busy forum. And the problem is that most people prefer social media and forums are dying left and right. Including big boards.

P.S. I don't want a quantity of member for my website, I will be happy with quality members.

It's hard to think of blogs and forums having any disadvantages. Mostly they are positive because they have extended opportunities to anyone who wants to make money or express their opinion. All anyone has to do is attract an audience. It doesn't matter what background you come from in terms of age, race or education. The most important thing is for people to connect with your content.

The disadvantage with forums is that the can ruin your reputation. Most people take them as gospel, yet sometimes the information is not verified. A good example is that before you start to work on a site online e.g Mturk you will consult a forum. As much as they may have useful information it's very easy for a malicious person to ruin the reputation of a site.

Nowadays, blogs and forums are less popular than before the fame of social media networking sites came to the internet world. But personally, for me, personally, one thing that I think the advantage of still using blogs and forums is that ease of finding topics or issues that you are interested. Second, is that you are more sure to get sensible response to your queries, unlike on social media, many irrelevant response from people sometimes pops up, until you end up solving your own problem, with no gathered information or help.
And third, I do believe that people on blogs and forums are more serious rather than those who are using social networking sites since it is really accessible and almost internet users have it, and they are just there to update their status or just to be updated with their loved ones, but in a businessman's perspective this is a good sign and they will consider probably of advertising their products there.

Like most things, forums and blogs also has its dark side. But for me, not as much as any other social media to the point that it's negligible. With forums, as well as blogs, we are able to create quality content. This is very beneficial to increase our knowledge in something, hone our communication skills, and promote collaboration. Blogs on the other hand play a part in broadening our horizons, since a lot of blogs deal with unique and interesting topics. Any platform that has quality content is always beneficial to the internet. Everyday, people will search for different topics like, how-to's, news and many more. The only problem with blogs and forum is that the younger generations might view it as an "old website". They would prefer to get their information on their much more "cooler" social media platforms. Back in the days, almost everyone has a blog or forum. But now, they just post stuffs on social media instead. Sad truth.

My final thoughts? Existing blogs and forums with followers and quality content should keep up the good work. But to start a fresh new blog or forum now, it's going to be difficult. It can be done, but it's just going to be more challanging compared to the days without social media platforms.
